Oh dear. 2bpurring is right, i know it is sucky but right now you need to go out and find the kitty. All is not lost. Make sure you bring some treats and maybe set out a bowl of kitty's favourtie food out in the yard, and go aroudn the neighbourhood calling out their name and looking around. Remember to bring treats and you never know!
If that fails you might want to arm yourself with some lost posters and staple gun and take the streets and also take to the internet. Not sure what you have where you are but we have Craiglists here and people post found and lost pets on that site all teh time.

yes there is food on both front and back porch ......hubby is looking around the nieghborhood ........we live on the edge of a wooded park .... we are looking ...im just a mess .......

Put out the cat food and treats that Elija especially likes. I am hoping he didn't go far. Come on Elija, come home so you can be where you are loved, fed and kept warm. St. Francis please help this lost kitty find his way home back to the ones who love and care for him. Amen.

I truly understand your pain !! This happened to me last week! Get one of his toys that makes noise and some treats and go outside and call him, shake the ball, shake the can of treats and go all over your yard and neighborhood! Tell your neighbors he is missing! Mowgli had never been outside before and he was able to find his window and meow for my to come get him!! I cried all day and I was an emotional train wreck, I really know how your feeling and I am sorry.
I am sending you a virtual hug because I know you need it !! I pray your baby comes home!

ELIJA IS HOME !!!! the very bad boy was in a niegbors garage ....and very scared ....and did not appreciate mommy bawling and holding him tight on sight...he meowed and i cryed .....he is now enjoying fancy beast and i am trying to regulate my blood pressure.......thank god ....thats what i said ...dont let me loose him ......so its a miracle .....small as it may be.

Thank you St. Francis! I am so glad he was found. Sending hugs of joy to you JF. When my Sylvester got out because my ex left the front door ajar, he went on a walkabout for about seven hours. We searched and searched and eventually he came back at around 5am. I was so happy to see him. I understand how you must have felt and how overjoyed he is back. Doing a happy dance your kitty is home.

i also did one of the stupid, leave the back door open things recently. Velvet was out all day and half the evenimg. i was so scared because she was elderly, partially blind, and possibly slightly senile. i though she might have wandered off to die alone outside. but she came back and it was one of the greatest joys of my life...
