do you think anything is wrong with my kitten she is always meawing i dont know whats wrong with her she'll sit and look at me and just meaw at me, she has food, milk, water, she gets cuddles, i talk to her, whats the problem? is she trying to tell me somthing is she ill or somthing?

Hi, Sammy's Mum, some cats are just very vocal, others only talk if they want to complain about something, others like to say hullo whenever they see you. My Libs miaows at me whenever I open the front door for her (I call it, 'thanking the staff'). Another cat in my family never said a word, occasionally miaowed silently, we thought she was actually unable to talk until she was about 15 and in the car going to the vet with my Max, who was crying piteously and suddenly she answered him and they wailed in chorus the whole journey.
Your baby is chatting! I always try to chat back :)

Sammy's Mum, one question..You said she has milk?? If this is cows milk that could be the problem, it is very, very bad for kitty. If it's KMR then it's likely just what JCat said, she likes to talk. My BooBoo kitty will talk all day long and loudly if something really good is on tv.

If she is part Siamese she will be a talker. NO COW'S MILK!

It would make me worry too. I think it's a normal thing though.
My 2 oldest cats used to meow quite a bit. Ricky still does but mostly at shadows from car lights and outside noises or when he thinks he wants to be an outside cat.
Sox grew out of it after we had him neutered Ricky is not neutered and is more of the vocal out of the 3. Our kitten is so sweet and quite mostly because she can beat up my 2 bigger cats that makes her happy I guess.

Hey everyone, Bella and I are new here, but I have a question. I got her dewormed, her first treatment last week and she still gets bloated on occasion. I don't see any worms in her poop but she still feels skinny around her ribs and such. I just got her from another home where she was being fed adult food. She's almost eight weeks now and on Kitten chow. I hope you all have some advise for me, it's been a long time since I had a kitten.

Hi, Ella, welcome to TDK. You have come to the right place, there are lots of experienced kitty people here and we have a lot of fun. We would love to see pix of Bella. If she's eating and playing and active otherwise, I wouldn't worry too much, just keep an eye out and if anything else happens to make you worry, call your vet. As long as she's putting on weight and not losing it, that's a good sign.

I've had kittens before, just not one this young. She's six weeks old. I had to take her to the vet because she was getting very lethargic on me, and it turns out she has round worms. The vet gave her something different so hopefully she will be back to her old self very soon. She's sleeping right now, but she did have a spur of energy enough to play so I take that as a good sign.

Hey everyone. She's doing much better now. She's due to get another dose of medicine soon. Now I'm having diet trouble. I was using kitten chow but after reading the content one night changed it to Wellness kitten brand. The problem is she's swallowing the food instead of chewing it. This is dry we are talking about. Now I need to try and find a food that has larger chunks so she will hopefully chew her food. Any suggestions??? I'm glad you helped me with the last problem I had.

The main concern for your kitten's diet is the nutritional value. A cat's dentation is not really designed for crushing or grinding food. They are designed to crack bones and strip meat in chunks from the carcass of their prey. True they will break larger kibbles into smaller pieces to swallow but even with a larger kibble they are likely to lap a kibble into the back of the throat for swallowing. Larger kibbles may prove harder on the kitten as they sit in the stomach needing moisture to break down.
