My dad is dying. There are TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE problems with my sibs (one is the problem, actually) and me and my dad and my family need your prayers. Please.

I'm so sorry for you and your family in this difficult time, Lainey. I'm even more sorry that one of your sibs is making it even worse. As PJ said, concentrate on the loving bonds, and try to stay away, as much as possible, from the disruptive ones.
I hope your time with your sister is comforting for both of you.

I know oh so well what you are dealing with. My mother passed away just a month ago tomarrow. My brother and sis have been driving me nuts, neither had any involvement in our mothers life for many years. I was her sole caregiver until she went into the nursing home 9 months ago, I hated to do it but I worried so much about her being home alone while I was at work. Just take a deep breath and try your best to remain calm. But do take time for yourself I was able to get away for a couple of days after the funeral and it saved my sanitiy

Your dad is just moving on, not really dying. He has been fighting for so long, he must be ready to try something new.
Aren't siblings fun? I have a couple I dearly love, a couple I respect completely and one that I think must have been dropped off by the hyenas. (I would say wolves except I like wolves). All you can do with those types of relatives is be thankful they are just your relative and not you.

Thank you, everyone. I just got in after choking down some food between sobs... My one sister and my brother, we all get along great, but this other one, definitely dropped off by the hyenas! She even finally admitted that she blames ME for mom's death (like 60 plus years of smoking had nothing to do with her lung cancer!) But I digress, this is about my daddy. My daddy is my best friend, my buddy, my pal, my Father, my DADDY. I loved my mom but my dad, whew, I cannot even begin to explain (though I am sure many of you know what I mean). He has told all of us he doesn't want to die in a hospital or facility and we are praying he will make it to his home.
Amy, got your email, but I think I'm going to lurk for a few minutes and then head to bed. I have to get to work early and start the paperwork for the Family Medical Leave and put in for advanced sick leave for whatever time I'm going to need. I'll be in touch with you and other and through here, and hopefully soon, when life settles down a bit (and if we ever get internet priviliges back at work, though I might sneak on a bit) I'll be back with this loving and FUN family!
Thank you all for your kindness, love, support and prayers. I know my daddy thanks you, too.

Lainey, hugs to both you and your Dad. It is so hard to lose your parent(s), my Mom died on Sept 11th and I know not much time has passed but it just wasn't long enough for me to be with her. I hope that your Dad makes it home and like so many have said, does it his way.

I'm so sorry that your Dad is dying, Lainey. Is he receiving hospice care now? If it can't be provided at home for some reason, maybe he can be moved into a more homelike hospice center. You and your family are in my prayers. {{{{{hugs}}}}}

Lainey, you and your dad and your family are all in my prayers. Tell Dad that "the cat people" are still thinking of him. I'm sorry that your one sibling is giving you such a hard time - I'm glad you have other supportive siblings. I will specifically pray that hospice (or whatever service you are using) can get dad home where he is comfortable.

Hugs, love and prayers coming your way for you and your Dad, Lainey. My Mom was my best friend (my dad died young and I don't remember him), so I have been through losing a best friend and parent at one passing. Each of us hurts in our own way, so I can't say I know exactly how you feel, but I can send thoughts of comfort and sympathy.

This type of sitution is trying on all. Try to stay strong/focused and you will get through this.(When my sis was ailing/passed it was a challenge. My bro & his gal were more aloof than helpful...I had to rely on my Faith and inner strenght to get me through & it helped.) -

Lainey, You will be in my prayers. This is a difficult time, but Ron and I were just there Easter of this year with his dad. Including the sibling that had not been there or cared for at least the last 25 years and all of a sudden wanting their wishes followed. Ignore them as best as possible, you have been there and cared for him, don't let anyone stand in your way now.
