  1. Good evening, TDKers! It is time for a late night shift. It seems only fitting after having a very early morning cafe. :)

The kitties are bustling about in their aprons tidying the Night Shift lounge. Snacks and fresh flowers are carefully placed on every table. The candles are lit casting a warm glow around the room. The jazz is smokey and low. Come on in, pull up a chair and tell me about your day.

  2. Hi, KW!! I'm only here for a moment. We had to go and do an interview with a candidate tonight and that always wipes me out mentally. Of course, it actually doesn't take much to wipe me out mentally!

  3. LOL!

I'm pretty whipped too, WWM. I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow. I'm doing a high profile sentencing with the media present.

I hope the candidate you interviewed looks like a good prospect. :)

How are the baby turtles' quilts coming along??

  4. He's a very good candidate, KW. Had some terrific questions and obviously has done a good deal of research about all of the academies. And he is applying to all, as he should. Which he is the most interested in, I really don't know. Very nice young man, though.

Wow - hope it's not a bad guy in your case!!!

It's warmed up the last two days and the baby turtles have been enjoying the sunshine!

  5. Do you know what kind of turtles these are?

  6. They are just the desert box turtles that we have here. They are about the size of a quarter right now. They really are so cute but I wish that they would eat!

  7. Do you know what they eat in the wild?

  8. They eat bugs and any fruits or vegetables that they might find. They love worms and grubs but I'm having trouble finding any this time of year. The neighbors are beginning to wonder why I'm going around in the yard digging little holes!

  9. Oh, my goodness. Your yard will look like a little minefield if you aren't careful. ;)

  10. I almost think that we should just go ahead and put them in the flowerbed and hope that they can make it through the winter. Normally we wouldn't even think of putting a hatchling in an aquarium, but these three were such late hatchlings that they have no reserves to make it through a winters hibernation. But I've been doing some reading and it might be best to just let them take a chance at it. They're so cute that it's hard to think of not trying to help them. But sometimes what we think is help is actually harm.

Well, I think that I'm off, KW. Good luck on your case tomorrow!

  12. WWM, you might try looking for mealworms at your local pet store.
