  1. I think National Grouch Day is fitting for today! I am grouchy. We had sleet yesterday and we are expecting snow flurries and sleet and rain today. Yucky! I feel miserable. I have been really crampy the last three weeks, hope that I am not having colon sympathy pains for Beth. I was absolutely miserable last night and spent most of the time in the bathroom. Good thing I got some magazines in the mail yesterday! Today we are having Denny's to cater breakfast, all you can eat buffet! YUM! Kitties are shivering, needs snuggles and scritches. I did NOT get the final corrections made on the Holiday Card list last night (in the bathroom!) so I am gonna try to do that here today at work over my lunch! Sorry bout that. Hope you have a good day. Betty and Wilma are getting more friendly. They both slept on the bed, on completely OPPOSITE ends but on the same bed in the same room! YAY!

  2. Morning MC! Is that why I work up grouchy this morning, well dang, lol! At least the girls slept in the same general vicinity, please don't worry about the Holiday Card list, it too shall be done and you are an angel for doing it :)

I am going back to lie down and see if I can keep the 'grouchy' feeling to a dull lull!

  3. Grouchy woke up before I did this morning (lol). I'm just Sleepy. Maybe this should be the revised seven dwarves cafe today...

Hermes came up for a nice purr and snuggle session this morning. Great way to start my day. Might be going out for lunch today with the husband/Grouchy.. depends on how his digestive difficulties work out this morning.

Got the results from my CT scan. Nothing really bad, per se, but there's a fibroid on one side of my uterus (very small, not a problem), but a small lump on one of my adrenal glands, so they're ordering another CT scan of that, and bloodwork to check my white-cell count again.

I -feel- better, except for being sleepy (yawn).

Sorry to hear about your time in the bathroom, MC, it sure isn't any fun. Hooray for the ladies sleeping on the same bed again.

  4. Siobhan, glad that you are feeling better albeit the sleepiness, good morning.

  6. Hi all - Leela gave me some purrs this morning, definately a nice way to start the day. I got more sleep last night and that seems to have helped my headache, now I just have a bit of a tummy ache - nothing that a purring agency kitty can't help!

Morning Joan, good that you got more sleep last night and that the headache seems to have been helped.

  8. Hello! Am I the only one who feels pretty good today?! Am I Happy or Dopey? LOL!
MC, so glad the girls are starting to warm up to each other. Don't worry about the card list. I send my cards out anytime after Thanksgiving, so you have a month to get it prepared. It's just great that you are doing this.
Siobhan, hope the extra scan and bloodwork will be of help. You've been dealing with this for a long time.

  9. Yes, I have, LadyKat. Since May of this year was when it all started. Apparently I -may- have been adding too much fiber too quickly (I was up around 20-25 grams and trying to add those last 5-10 grams to get to 30) when I first began having backaches that wouldn't go away when I'd walk for awhile. Even if I bent over to touch my toes, to stretch my back, the backache wouldn't go away. When the loose stools began, it got even worse. Maybe now that I've let things settle down, I can slowly add fiber again. I might not be one of those people who can eat a whole lot of fiber every day. (I did put some Benefiber into my unpasteurized apple cider this morning; wish me luck)

But some of the Fiber One cereals are REALLY GOOD. The Caramel Delight reminds me of a General Mills Golden Grahams cereal, and there's another Fiber One cereal that looks like Captain Crunch...without all the sugar that would make my teeth ache! (lol).

Don't sweat the holiday card list, MC....we're not even to Halloween yet :-)

  10. Here's a purring kitten for you, Joan... they're so small that they almost vibrate when they purr (lolol).

  11. Misty greeting from M'waukee again today...if I was a dwarf I'd be Lola 'cause would be lower to the ground...ha ha/I'll stop, just trying to cheer someone up! I've already had some coffee but I'll grab a topper on the way out after a smooch from a little tortie kit. Hope all have a feel better day/nite than it started!

  12. Well, count me in the grumpy group today, as I had to come in 2 hours early for an HR seminar on appropriate behavior in the workplace. Gag.

*Kilroy takes her grumpy self off to the corner with a mug of cocoa, hoping a kitten might come looking for snuggles*

  13. I'm having quite the grumpy grouchy day today too. I woke up and luckily my fever is now down to 99 (it got to a high of 102.7 yesterday). However, I still have a clogged nose, my throat hurts, my chest hurts, and I am coughing up stuff. To make matters worse, my landlord has not turned on the heat in the building for the season yet even though the high today is 46 degrees and its going to pour outside. I'm so so so cold and it is not helping this sickness at all.

I have a quiz today in one of my classes and 2 papers due in another and I have yoga which I really shouldn't participate in due to still feeling terrible but my grade will suffer if I don't so I don't know what to do. The absentee policy is really not fair at all for that class. It's not my fault if I'm genuinely sick.

  14. *a teeny-tiny tortie kitten bounds to Jeankit, looking for smooches*

*a teenage Maine Coon kitty, tired of playing with the babies, wanders over to "grumpy Kilroy", snuggles and nestles down in her lap, purring and kneading*

  15. Aww Joan, I need that to get going...thanks! Have a good un...Smooch!

  16. Well, I did end up staying home today, neck was in no fit state for driving this morning. Boss was fine, and I am getting some stuff done, but not as much as I would have done if I'd made it in. Will have to play catch up this weekend. I could do with a small/light warm kitten around my neck please!

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  17. MCW, sorry to hear that, hope it gets better later in the day.

  18. Morning, Everyone! I'm not grouchy but can I come into the cafe anyway? I guess that I'll be Happy today. I had a friend once who told me that the only people who smile as much as I do are the ones who don't have a clue. Was Clueless one of the seven dwarfs?

I'm not a coffee drinker but I bought myself a treat at the store yesterday. It's one of those international coffee mixes and it's dark chocolate. Yummy!!!

All right, all you grouches....Okay, so a Texan rancher comes upon a farmer from Maine. The Texan looks at the Mainer and asks, "Say, how much land you think you got here?" Mainer: 'Bout 10 acres I'd say." Texan (boasting): Well, on my lot, it takes me all day to drive completely around my property!" Mainer: "Yep, I got one of them trucks too."

    I know.... it's lame.....

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  19. WWM, you just made a grumpy former "Maineiac" smile, so thank you :)

MCW, I'm glad you decided to stay home today; safer all around. Hope you feel better soon.

  20. Hi all! I am not on the grumpy couch today either. A bit Sleepy though. Was up in time to get my son to work only to have him call and say he's not going in ... sounded awful. So I had an extra hour to get ready. Would have preferred the extra sleep - but I'm sure he would prefer to not be sick! I left a bag outside his door with a thermometer, Day-Quil and Night-Quil. Hopefully he'll be feeling better soon.

AZDeb - those tourist slogans were a hoot !! LOL

  21. Yay, Kilroy! Then my work here is done :-)

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  22. Good afternoon, all. I'm not grouchy, either. I may be because I've been spending an awful lot of time with GG since the bed bugs took over my place.
Good for you with all the smiling, WWM! GG asked me the other day whyI am always in such a good mood and always sem to be happy - probably because of him :)

I skipped pictures at the gym to run 45 minutes up to West Palm Beach with Panera Friend to take pictures and meet and greet for a new men's league she had starting up today. Met her for breakfat at Panera first and then drove up there.
Now I'm waiting for a dog-sitting client to call me in about 10 minutes and then I may try and take a nap before goig into work.

Sorry about all the grouchiness today - hope tomorrow's better for everyone!

  23. Yikes! It's raining where I am now, but it's snowing up on the mountain. Probably those big wet flakes. Should be an interesting ride home later...

  24. AAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH! PH is getting on my nerves, running off at the mouth! If I want to talk about something different or if I don't want to talk or listen or if I can't talk or listen to what he has to say at the moment, he still feels the need to continue the conversation. This really p!$$es me off when I'm in my bathtub or in the car (as I am a captive audience, as it were). I need moments of quiet to gather my thoughts and relieve what anxiety may be starting up at the moment; I've tried to tell him this for eight years now, but he won't get it through his rock head. (Could his schizophrenia have affected his ability to be sensitive to others' needs and boundaries?) I think I found a huge component in my current writer's block: I can't gather my thoughts because he won't STFU long enough for me to do so! Can you tell I'm a tad grouchy right now and I could use a White Russian right now? (OK, so he doesn't have to be Russian... ;) ) It's not that time of the month for me; I'm just in a really bad mood right now.

Posted 2 years ago by Vicki #

  25. Vicki - sorry about PH not giving you the space you need. Remember - Men speak a different language than we do... LOL Can you send him off on an errand so you can re-center?

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  26. Ha ha...White Russian whichever kind coming right up for Vicki!!!

Posted 2 years ago by jeankit #

  27. Grouch Cafe??!! OK, wasn't grouchy earlier, but am now! Just been to check my bank account online, and found out that my pay cheque - paid to me LATE last Friday has now BOUNCED!! I am FURIOUS!!!

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  28. OMG MCW !!! I, too, would be furious ! What is your plan of attack on this?

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  29. Well, I rang my Boss, got his voicemail, left a message. Then rang colleague who got paid same day to warn him, only to find Boss had already spoken to him earlier!!!!!!!!! So why the (unfluffy word) didn'e he ring me too? Boss then responded to my message, said bank had rung him today to say they were returning a couple of cheques which had crossed with another payment out, but didn;t say which cheques they were. He says he can't do anything now til the morning. So. Tomorrow morning could be interesting...

We're off to the pub quiz now, was in two minds about going before, but now I need something to distract me before I punch a wall or two!!

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  30. How very frustrating! I would hope that Boss plans to cover any and all overdraft charges as a result of the 'cheques crossing.' I worked for a company briefly where pay checks were bounced. Not fun !!!

Enjoy the pub ! Have a couple of stiff cold ones :)
