  2. Would that be like the air raid drills of the 60's? We were taught "In case of a nuclear attack, get under your school desk." We may have been dumb Texans but I was always pretty sure that wasn't going to work.....

  3. Yes it's just about the same thing, I'm pretty sure if the building really crumbles that my co-workers won't bother looking for me, they will be crushed right along with me. hahaha...They are trying to be realistic this year and have me injured in my computer server room...opps here we go! I'll let you know if I live!!!LOL

  4. LOL, 2bp! Be sure to take lots of ketchup and stuff so you can have some spectacular cuts and lacerations for them to fix!

  5. We had an announcement just now at work. It appears that I am in the best location/most stable location for a quake. :) Elizabeth

  6. Well one of my co-workers did come looking for me this year! I feel love hahahahaha..(NOT) I sure hope our schools and other organizations take it more serious than we did...my co-worker found me easy, I couldn't stop laughing!

  7. See 2BP...you find humor in out of the ordinary circumstances!
Willow:We had air raid drills too! (I lived about 3 blocks from school so figured I'd run home & hide instead of under the desk/6 year old's thought process!)

  8. LOL JK, I wish I could have ran home! WWM, Sorry I didn't get your post about the ketchup till afterwards, but next year I will be prepared! It's so close to Halloween I'm sure I could find fake blood! Great idea, next years Shakeout is going to be a lot of fun!

  9. i did soemthing similar last year except it wasnt for earthquakes. we pretended to be seeing a basketball game at a local high school n it was suppsoed to be hit by a plane. we were sprinkled with baby powder n then taken to local hospitals for them to practice on us with. in minivans. it was a trip!

  10. The main thing we practice is lockdowns. Fortunatly if we ever did have an intruder on campus we are probably one of the safest schools for it to happen too. The police department is a few blocks away. Canadian Border (search dogs, border patrol) a few miles away. Fire station less than a mile away (as well as ambulances). I just hope that we never do have a real lockdown :/
