    I almost got T-boned by a truck last night -- the driver was on her cell phone, and didn't even see me. Wound up slamming on brakes and then almost got rear-ended.

    So many accidents, and so many of them are preventable.

    MC, I am so sorry for that family! What a terrible tragedy. All of them, and all of you are in my prayers today.

    Emna how scary for you! I hate people on cell phones while driving, they are worse than drunk drivers quite often. Did you hear our governors wife was caught talking on her cell phone while driving? Is it against the law in PA?

    HANG UP AND DRIVE, people! I have a MySpace friend who lost her niece when she was hit by a driver who DROPPED HIS CELL PHONE IN HIS CAR! The man bent down to pick it up and hit the young woman; she had just turned 18.

    Yup, it's against the law. But everyone does it except me. I pull over to take the call. We just heard about a death involving the other driver text messaging his buds to meet him for drinks later.

    Omg, I heard about this. My brother and his family live in the area. What an awful thing to have happen. I feel so bad for the elderly man and his family. In a weird way a feel a little bad for the 19yr old too. I think someone else said this earlier, that she will have to live with this her whole life. She was definitely in the wrong and needs to face concequences but chances are she's not an evil person.

    Former first lady Laura Bush had a vehicle accident when she was a senior. Her car hit her best friends car, football star at her school, and he died. She has had to live with that all of her adult life. Unfortunately terrible accidents happen.
