Hello Everyone

  1. Hello everyone. I was asked to start a new topic. I have two cats that remain in our family. We have Sassy a 7 month old siemese mix. Her name fits every bit of her. Abby Jacks sister. She is a multi-colored tabby mix. She is playful and mouthy when she wants your attention. Jack was my baby. He used to love to give kisses and just light up the room when he was in it. He was not very vocal but I called him Jack because he would wink at you so It made me think of a pirate and the first pirate that came to mind was Jack Sparrow. Abby got her name because since the day I brought her home she would sit on the bed and watch ncis with me. Hence Abby. I have had cats for as long as I can remember. My first when I was 1 and she had a litter when I was two and died shortly after. That is how I got my cat Tonya. She lived for 17 years. She lived a very long and fulfilled life. She died when I was 19. At my mothers house I have a 10 year old cat name Pete he is part ocelot, and Barbara who is 5. She is my little lion. Well that is it. And thank you guys for the warm welcome and your sympathy on my loss of Jack.

  10. Thank You all. I love cats and always have. I hear all kinds of crazy myths about cats. And some make me laugh and other mad. I will miss Jack greatly. We have the issue with Abby now who is completely clinging to my husband and when he is asleep me. Today is the first day Sassy has step foot into our bedroom where Jack spent most of his time. She would sit out side the door and just stare in. I want to thank you all in helping me through this. My husband is insisting that we need another kitten. I just don't feel right about it. I feel like we would be replacing him. I think this is my Husband's way of grieving and trying to make it better for me.

  11. Welcome! So sorry for your loss of Jack. It is always so hard. You are lucky that you still have kits in your life. Kittys make like so much better! I'm sure that Jack is up there with my sweet lost babies having a great time. Take care.

  12. Can anyone tell me how to link my pic to the catster site?

  13. Top of the page - 'view your profile' once in there, click on 'edit this information.' You can add the caster link there - under 'website' :)

  14. Getting another kitten isn't 'replacing' a lost furbaby. It's more like honoring the love you had for Jack by sharing your love with another needy kitten. But, not everyone is ready to do that in the same amount of time. Some people need weeks or months to grieve, some don't. Some of us wait until we meet a new cat that just 'feels right' as though our lost baby has sent the new one to us.

You'll know when it's right for you.
