  1. Hey everybody, about 2 days ago, Raja bit me or scratched me (not sure it was over in less than a second) from play gone wild :P There was blood coming out of the area but i cleaned it and it stopped in a few moments. He bit/scratched me on the arm and now 2 days later, there is no swelling, pain or discomfort in the area. Infact, the wound is already healing. He has had his rabies shot/other shots they give at 8-9 weeks and were gona take him to the vet on monday. Anyways i was wondering if I should show this wound to the doctor immediately or if I should just wait and see if i notice any "bad" signs and then go. Thanks!

  2. Cat bites or scratches usually go bad quickly. If you have kept the wounds clean and they are healing, you should be fine. If you let them go and allow them to re-infect you could run into trouble. My arms from above the wrist to fingertips are a maze of fine scars from playing too hard with kitties and I am pushing 60 with no ill effects.

  3. You might, though, want to check when you last had a tetanus booster shot. If it has been more than 10 years, you might want to get a tetanus booster just to be safe.

  4. Hey thanks for the prompt response! it turns out i have had a tetanus shot 3 years ago! Also, My mother called our family psychians emergency number. He was not there but a substitute doctor answered our question. He said that if its healing I should be fine but if there is a red line running from the infection across my arm I should worry. I am healing, it looks like a normal paper cut right now.. So i dont think im in any danger :) Thank you again!

  5. yes exactly! A friend of mine years ago was scratched by his cat and developed a red line that began to travel up his arm. The red line actually eventually reaches your heart so you have to get to the doctor before it does. It's good your okay!
