  1. MC, when you call back to the surgeon's office, ask them to please define how much brain/spinal fluid is okay to leak before it kills you. Be persistent and demand an exact answer of a defined amount. That might get someone's attention.

  2. I have to agree with that! Just how much is okay before death or permanant damage!

  3. I asked Amy if she was at the ER and she said
"No. At Walgreens, Doc said his treatment would not change if he saw me in office. Antibiotics and rest. Leak will close itself."

  4. But it hasn't closed itself. The surgery was months ago. I really think this neurosugeon is pushing it. I don't understand his logic.

  5. update to the update...
Amy texted me and said she honestly doesn't know if the dr is getting her messages or it's just the secretary.
I asked her your question Marnet.

  6. Why isn't she in the ER? So what if the doctor's treatment wouldn't change if he saw her in the office? This doctor's competence is in question, as is MC's safety!

  7. CM how does she sound? I know she is a strong lady, but to be in pain like that and hurt that bad and yet drive is hard on the body. Does she sound like she is strong or is her voice weakening? I know that over the phone is tough to diagnose anything and shame on the secretary for even trying--where did she get her medical degree?

  8. I am only texting her right now SM. I would say by her texts she sounds tired and just worn out.
I told her the dr and secretary were jacka--es.
She said you keep making more fluid but she doesn't know when the leakage is too much

  9. I do wish she would go to the ER. When someone is ill they often don't think clearly, and she must be just exhausted as well. At least I wish there was someone who could stay with her now. If she is nauseous and in pain she could fall or get hurt and no one would know. I hope her doctor falls into a big patch of poison oak and can't find any store with calamine lotion! (I actually have a few more fantasies of an unpleasant nature for him, but they would be too un-fluffy to put here!)

  10. Ok everyone focus with me. Think clearly and specifically about Amy, close your eyes and focus warm, gentle thoughts and prayers in her direction. Think about the headache going away, think about the leak closing off. Visualise that your thoughts, and prayers are a warm soft blanket and visualize wrapping her in the warmths and comfort. Think a gentle hug to her. All positive healing thoughts, don't let any negative thoughts invade. Pure white light!

  11. CM, can you text her and ask her to get a friend to haul her into the ER?

Amy is not thinking clearly, and I am scared. It is better to have a doctor diagnose her face to face rather than over the phone.

    And I am scared.

  12. I just dont have the 125.00 to go back to the ER. Trust me, my coworkers are annoying me checking up on me!

  13. This doesn't sound good! Doctors may treat these things many times, but to every patient it's her first time. They have to give better answers than it will close itself. *looking for wonk-bonk stick and the bus to pick us all up and invade the hospital or office - whichever gets us the attention we want for MC!*

  14. Try calling the doctor's office again and telling the woman that you can't afford the ER and you are really scared. Ask her to at least have the doctor call you today. Maybe you would get his attention faster if you mention that you are going to try and find something much stronger on your own to take for your headache.

  15. Whack-bonk stick dusted off and shining beautifully, squeezed myself into my Ninja suit. The Kiwi-Cybermobile is fuelled and ready to go.
MC, you need to hear the organ grinder speak not the monkey.
Sending TDK White Light for you, I hope you get taken notice of very soon.

  16. Nothing will happen now until Thursday. He is in surgery all day Tuesday and Wednesday. They are gone for the day today. I am pretty much flying solo (with the exception of the TDK family) until then. I peeled off my bandage and it was icky but hey, my head was rid of the fluid IN it.

  17. How is the headache MC? Better I hope.

    Posted 5 months ago by KYKAT 12 23 #

  18. It is the leakage that is causing the headache. When a spinal tap is taken by the hospital the headache that follows is called a spinal headache. It is because there is a lowering of the pressure on the brain. Too low or too high the first clue is a headache. As long as you are draining you are not sealing and you are draining enough to cause a headache.

Keep it as tightly bandaged as you can and hopefully the pressure will slow the drainage enough to allow the fissure to close or at the very least, releave the headache.

  19. I understand the money issue MC, but I think pushing the issue with the office might make them take notice. If it gets so bad you go unconscious who is there to help you. Can't that happen when you lose spinal fluid? Again we all know I am no doctor, but a whole in your head with leaking fluid sounds down right dangerous. Please know we are doing all the checking because you are valued and we love you. Prayers that you have a peaceful rest with little pain until you can be seen.

Have I mentioned that doctors are not on the top of my trustworthiness list.

Posted 5 months ago by SoxsMom #

  20. Ha SM, I would never have guessed docs weren't on the top of your list. They are not on mine either. Ail, I think the headache comes from the excess fluid in my head pushing on things. Now that the fluid is out again my head feels better and more clear. As it fills back up, if it fills back up then I believe the headache would be back. Its just my observation.

  21. My black whack-bonk stick with pink tips and silver streamers is ready to go. I'm armed and ready. I have a genuine witch's broom and will fly on command. Leela has been practicing being a halloween kitty, which includes balancing on mama's broom when she's flying around the house, and I think she's ready for a mission. She will get off at MC's house and stay with Wilma and Betty.
MC, the warm, cozy, healing TDK blanket is around you, generated by TDK love.

Thank you for everything you've done for me and everyone here. Now. YOU take care of YOU. Like everyone else, I wish I was closer so I could tend to you like you deserve.
