  1. Top 5 Dry Foods:

    1) Nature's Variety Instinct Chicken Formula @ 17% carbs
    2) EVO @ 18% carbs
    3) Wellness CORE @ 20% carbs
    4) Orijen @ 23% carbs
    5) Blue Wilderness @ 26% carbs

    Top 3 Wet Foods:

    1) Blue Wilderness @ 7% carbs
    2) EVO 95% @ 9% carbs
    3) Wellness CORE @ 11% carbs

Cats have little need for carbs which is why the foods with the best ingrediants were then judged by how many carbs they have on a dry matter basis. The manufacturers should also be taken into consideration...Nutro the Recall King and Diamond the Recall Queen.

You know how I feel about feeding dry food and why I think cats should never be fed it.

*Some of the fancy feast wet food has less than 10% carbs but they weren't listed in the top brands b/c of their ingrediants.

The best overall food is raw :)

  2. I have done my best with the top wet foods.... kitties wouldn't touch it. Tried mixing in small amounts to their regular wet food - nope. They walked away from it all. All went down the disposal and they fed on dry only. (At least that is #4 on your dry list.. haha) I caved and put them back on Fancy Feast... they're much happier. I shop with the list you provided a while back on the best of the Fancy Feast options. Limited as they won't eat beef either ! Little stinkers... ;)

Thanks, as always, for your input FF50... you have done an admirable job with your research.

  4. Here is the wet food I feed--it has NO GRAIN:

Here is the dry I was feeding: http://www.kumpikat.com/ingredients.html

I had to go back to prescription CD dry for Sheba, or I would still be using it. Both foods are very high quality and the cats love the taste of both.

I chose these after they wouldn't eat the raw. All are US human grade ingredients.

  5. Is Blue Wilderness the same as Blue Spa?

  6. Sheba's Mom - is Instinctive Choice only available by order? Or is there a store where one could buy a can or two just to try it out?

  7. Never thought of Intinctive Choice or KumpiKat. Here is its carbs (you want the least amount possible):

    IC wet food: 8% carbs
    KK dry food: 29% carbs

I wish I could edit my first post...the KK wet food should be #2 so instead of the top three it should be the top four.

  8. I know it's considered a high-quality food and not a premium food, but I use and have had lots of success with Nutro wet and dry for my kittens. They love both and have been eating it for quite some time. I know there have been recalls in the past, but I only have good things to say about it.
