  1. i have the most beautiful wedding dress in the back of my closet in a white dress bag. but i have a rambunctious kitty running around here, and he climbs up the bag. he already tore the bag up. i am very protective about that dress, it is an over 700 dollar dress that i could never get fixed because i got it in another state. i got on to him 2 time, like every momma does to their children when they do something very bad i made him look at me and in an very assertive voice i told him no and not to do that again. which that is the edited version of what i really told him. oh and my closet doesnt have a door, and he will go through a big blanket to get to what he wants. does anyone have any ideas of what i could do next time he does this?

  2. Have you tried squriting him a shot of water from a sprtizer on jet mode? I think you might have said he likes water...but if he doesn't uit works.

Or else here is something I have ffound worked. There is as spray called Shoo! Which smells like Cirtrus and cats hate. So I put another bag on top of the bag you arealdy have on teh dress and miss the bag out side in the hallway with a smiliar spray and put the bag on top of the previous bag (since its double bagged hopefully you don't get any on the wedding dress). I'd spray areas esp that kitty seems to like to tear up. LIke the bottom or what not. Maybe that will work? you Could also put orange or lemon peels on the ground around the dress maybe that will deter him from even getting near it?

  3. ILT is right about kitties not liking the smell of citrus. But if you want to make very sure it doesn't get damaged box it up!!! or is there another closet with a door? move it and you can be sure!

  4. Close the closet door. Move to a closet that has a door. Put it in a box.

  5. Oh my ...sorry for all those typos in my previous post..coffee has not kicked in! Yes, I agree with Soxxmom and 2bpurring the easier solution would be to box it up and put it in storage! Much easier to steam the wrinkles out then to put ot back togehter from tatters!

  6. i dont have any room in the other closet. its holding my fiance's computer stuff and the spaz's toys he wont play with. lol the orange peels will probably get lost since spaz really doesnt care what he plays with. oh the joys of raising a toddler kitty

  7. Sweetamy..can you keep the dress with a trusted friend of family memeber for a while? Until kitty grows out of it?

  10. What worked best for my kitties was "scruffing". When you catch them doing something bad, grab the back of their neck and gently push it down a bit while hissing at them. Bobby learned the first time - Milo the 2nd!

  11. i know how u feel. lol my little boy wanted to rub that freezing cold wet nose on me lastnight when i was trying to relax to go to bed.

  12. the technique suggested by greatdane really works wonderfully. i do it with my kitties every time they do something that i find totally unacceptable (like climbing my curtains). i hiss and spit at them like a real cat would do - i tell you, it scares the hell out of them. you get really big eyes 'i didnt know you could do that!!!', and then they run off. i once did that when i was having some wine with a friend out in our garden, and tigger was stalking a stork (we have storks who nest in our yard - kitty obviously couldnt do the math yet) - i ran after tigger hissing and spitting - needless to say my friend was as shocked as the cat . . .

  13. Keep it under lock & key!!! When we were kids our first cat/Kot decided to have kittens in the cabinet and inside the box my mom kept her wedding dress in!(We couldn't find her at first...but after the fact...Oh, memories!!!)

  14. Put it in a plastic storage box and make sure the lid is secure.
