  5. This was the one thing my Mom (God rest her soul) loved about Halloween! Every year she would make a kitty litter cake and take it to work. She loved to see the faces of her co-workers. Dee they taste really good too!

  7. I'm sure it would be the highlight of any party or get-together. I have seen other kitty litter cakes made with a litter pan liner, too...very funny!

  9. Dee, you really brought back some wonderful memories for me with this thread. My mother didn't have too many silly moments, but every year at Halloween she would make this cake and have so much fun with it! Each year at Halloween several neighbors all get together and set up chairs in the driveway and all the kids can just go chair to chair and get their candy, it saves them time and the adults have fun talking and we all bring something to eat. I think maybe this year I should try this cake. Of course all my neighbors know I'm the crazy cat lady so they might not want to try it!! hahaha

  10. That would be so cool to carry on your mom's memory, J. If you make it, make sure to show us the pics! And don't let Ron eat it all this time...haha!

  11. LOL...I will have to find a good hiding place. I have just been informed that we are having a Halloween potluck here at work, so I might have to make 2.

  12. One of the temp workers here made it to go with her "Crazy Cat Lady" costume--she carried a stuffed cat named "Scratch", she wore an old, holey sweater covered with cat hair and since she had false teeth she left them out for the event! She won first prize out of all the people in the building.

  14. I have made this every year since my daughter was 9. She had a teacher that LOVED Halloween. The schools here are not allowed to do anything with Halloween because it is offensive to several religions. I made the cake--it is just gross and tasty--not religiously offensive. She loved it, and now it is a tradition!

  15. One of our recently retired judges used to make chocolate sponge cake--with a real sponge! He'd invite folks to slice a piece and watch them wrestle with the darn thing. It was perfectly frosted but impossible to cut. lol
