  1. Hi and Happy Hump Day to you all. Today it is gonna be unseasonably warm, rainy and humid. We go from the 20s to the 60s in less than a week. No wonder my head feels the way it does! LOL Today we have a beautiful fresh fruit display put out by the agency kitties. I can see they have been working hard slicing, dicing and balling melons. They have made a special cream cheese dip for dipping. There are fresh cinnamon rolls, coffee cake and pumpkin bread. We also have bacon and sausage for a side. Coffee, Tea, Hot Cocoa, Juices, Milk and Water too. Please stop in before your crazy day starts. Kittehs looking for cuddles and snuggles too! Happy Day!

  2. Hi, MC, hope you slept well after that yummy KFC dinner last night... I will have fresh melon balls please and then some cinnamon rolls, yum... And I had better cuddle my own little grey miaowser Libs, please, as she has been coming in and miaowing at me all day and I'm not at all sure what she wants...

  3. jcat, did you by chance miss some treasure that she left for you, or not feed her the 'treats' she so richly deserves...

I should be home snuggling with my own, oh well another 4 hrs and I will be.

  5. Hi everybody. Day off today, and more bloody acupuncture. I know you and others swear by it Molly, but after last week's experience in particular I just feel like swearing AT it!!

  7. Morning MCW, good luck with the acupuncture, it just takes time if its going to work. Might try the Chinese form since they use thinner needles, ask your acupuncturist if they do that kind.

  9. MCW, I have always wanted to try acupuncture. It makes sense though that it releases the toxins first and makes you feel like crud at first. That's what happens when I get a massage..I wish I never got one, after it's over, I feel nauseous and just down right miserable.

Posted 1 month ago by cricketsmama #

  10. {{{MCW}}} I hope this week's acupuncture is easier and actually makes you feel better, not beastly.

Morning all. Cinnamon buns sound lovely, and kitty snuggles are good too. George sends morning purrs to all.

  11. Oh, poor MCW. My mum had chronic pain for several years and acupuncture was the only thing that helped it, so I'm afraid we swear by it in my family too. She went to a Chinese acupuncturist and she never felt a thing as the needles went in. I'm sorry you're having so much pain with it, maybe it's your acupuncturist?

Deb, I don't know what I've done, she wanders round the couch miaowing piteously, I think possibly she's saying 'Entertain me, I'm bored' but she turns her nose up at my efforts to play. What she really loves is to be chased all round the house and all round the garden but I'm a bit tired by after dinner...

Gosh, the cafe exploded while I was typing! Morning CM and Kilroy, hope things go well at the doctor's, CM, despite the shots.

  12. Needles actually going in is fine, no problem - but they can start to hurt after
a while, and afterwards I just feel like I've been given a good kicking! I'm going to ask for another appt with the doctor in the pain management clinic while I'm there, coupld of things I want to run through with them. The appt is unlikely to be for a couple of weeks, so I'll have had a couple more sessions and will be able to comment on that too.

  13. Good morning everyone! Warm and rainy outside my front door this morning, and cats prowling around my legs looking for food...

Jake's a pretty moo-boy kitty! MCW, what are you trying acupuncture for?

CM, are the girls getting flu shots at today's doctor's visit?

  14. The acupuncture sessions were prescribed by the pain management clinic that I was originally referred to for ongoing pain in neck/shoulder (but mainly shoulder)- I had shoulder surgery in 2001, and it wasn't massively successful. Another thing they prescribed was (more) physio - I went for one session back in January, which included a neck stretching exercise, and have had hideous pain in my neck ever since. An MRI scan this summer showed a bulging disc between C2 & C3 vertebra. It affects my whole upper back, and sometimes down my arms too. That's what the acupuncture is trying to help.

  15. Oh, MCW, that sounds terrible. My mum hates it whenever physio is prescribed for her, she finds that makes everything ache worse and in fact they've just discovered her problem is due to osteo-arthritis, not a fall, so no wonder the physio was making it worse.

Her chronic pain was a nerve pain though and it was like the acupuncture stopped the signals getting through, all through the session and for about an hour afterwards. I hope it does end up working for you, back and neck pain are horrible and so debilitating.

  16. Hi all...sorry to have disappeared on you....
Siobhan, I will get the girls their flu shots. I am leery about the swine flu shot but I think they need it. However, I just heard on the TV that the swine flu shots are not at dr's office and to check with the CDC...so they might not get them today. I have to get mine too since I have asthma...
Oh MCW, I hope you can find some relief soon. That just sounds so painful for you.

  18. I'm now on quite a good combination of pain meds, would want ideally to take a higher dose of one, but it makes me too drowsy. They keep me on a functioning level most of the time, but I'm so glad I only work four days with a day off in the middle of the week - gives me time to rest and recuperate then & at weekends. I've been getting stupid achey pain elsewhere as well though, and this is what I want to investigate further.

Posted 1 month ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  19. Morning, Cheri, love your attitude, hope the podiatrist can help!

I'm off to bed, night, Deb, sleep well, enjoy your weekend! Have a great day, everyone!

  20. MCW, make sure that you drink a lot of water also with the acupuncture treatments, its like going to the chiro doc for treatments. It helps to release the yuck toxins out of your body.

  21. G'night jcat and sleep well my friend, didn't get a chance to see the meteor shower(s)....too many lights here @ w*** so it blocked the stars.

  23. Good morning, all! It's rainy and warm here and I'm hoping it stays warm (without the rain) for the coming weekend. It's our last weekend for the Halloween event at the zoo and our first weekend didn't give us the numbers we were hoping for.

  24. Ouch, MCW! I've gotten my regular flu shot already, CM, and I'm waiting for the H1N1 vaccine now. My college ran out of the regular flu vaccine...

Michigan is one of fourteen states that has passed a 'medical marijuana' law, and chronic pain is one of the points that can be justified for using medical marijuana. Sometimes modern medications cause side effects (digestive upset, etc.) and medical marijuana is the only alternative that eases pain without unwanted side effects. It can be helpful for 'woman cramps' as well as many kinds of pain.

I feel if it were legalized, our governments could rake in a lot of revenue from the taxes (lol). I know it's a hot-button item though.

  25. There's a zoo in Battle Creek that hosts a "Zoo Boo" every year, LadyKat, I bet that's like what your zoo does.

Posted 1 month ago by Siobhan #

  26. Siobhan, it probably is since a lot more zoos are utilizing the facilities for special occasions.

Posted 1 month ago by LadyKat of IA #

  27. Our local "zoo boo" really caters to kids and families. Group pumpkin carving, pumpkins and assorted fall decorations all over the paths and walkways ... Binder Park Zoo is apparently pretty well known for its good care of the animals and the habitats they provide. I've never been there... I find zoos hard to take. The animals just don't look happy in captivity.

  28. Good morning, all! Hope everyone's doing well.

I'm not feeling great today. I'm still tired from opening the gym yesterda after 5 hrs of sleep and I slept in my car again last niht which doesn't make for a good night's sleep. Add to that that I'm coughing and wheezing now. I suspect it's because of the DE I've sprinkled everywhere and I need to vacuum it all up to see if that helps. I hope that's the problem and that I'm not getting sick.
I suggested to GG last night that maybe I ought to pitcha tent in the back yard and sleep there instead of the car. I was miserable enough in the car to consider it....

  29. Morning, Everyone! We're rushing around packing up bike gear to head out to the Hill Country for our own little version of Cyclefest. It's raining here, but the weather looks good where we're headed.

Given what's in store for me the next few days, could I please have a Power Bar?

Posted 1 month ago by WillowandWindismom #

  30. One power bar coming up, WWM! Have a wonderful trip, enjoy yourself - and don't fall off the bike!
