  1. Morning All! Hope all goes well at the dr's today with the wee ones, CM....I always hated taking them for shots, but it is necessary. Our county said that they are giving the H1N1 vaccine to pg women and health care workers first, then to all school-age kids, then to the general public. The nurse told me those general clinics will be awhile, though. And it is FREE! What? There must be a catch, nothing is 'free' anymore :) LOL.

((GD)) I wish I could help you out. I feel so bad for you honey. I would say rent a hotel room but that costs way too much..

  4. I hate shot day too Katt...Although I know it's necessary it's so hard that I have to hold them down. This will be the first year that Maddie will know and remember that she got a shot...I told her it will be a pinch and then she gets a sticker and a sucker. Oh boy...I pray it goes well.

Mmmm some cinnamon raisin toast with my usual large java and a little cinnamon kit for a smooch! Happy Hump Day to all wherever you hang your hat & keep your cat! ps:Thanks AZDeb for Jake!

  9. Home with the crud again today. Taking medicine and going back to bed. I'll take a nice hot chai to go, please (even though it's gonna be in the 70's today, wouldn't you know!). I'll say hi later on. Have a good one everyone!

  11. Lainey, do you need Visiting Cat Nurses to stop by?

Posted 2 years ago by Siobhan #

  12. Siobhan that would be wonderful! Jetta has been taking care of me but she needs a break (and she's been telling me that, too!)

  13. Bye, guys - we're off! See y'all on Sunday.

  14. GD, sleeping in your car!!!! As a life long camper, I can guarantee that if you prepare properly you would be more comfortable in a tent! 1. get a tent that cen be closed up to keep warm or vented to keep cool and has a good rainfly covering. Also get a tarp as an extra covering over the ground for under the tent. Read the directions on setting up and staking. 2. get your air mattress fixed, or get a new one or a camping cot. 3. get a good sleeping bag that is rated for the coldest weather you might encounter. and a sheet or two. Often when camping, I am warm when I go to bed and then get quite cold so you need to prepare for both. 3. battery operated lantern(s). You might decide you like it and start taking some camping vacations.

  15. I'm back. It hurt. And now I have a full blown migraine coming on. Joy.

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  16. {{{{MCW}}} I'm sorry the acupuncture is hurting so much.

Was anything ever done about the physiotherapist who damaged your neck in the first place? Seems to me that there should have been consequences for that.

  17. I actually do like camping andused to do it a lot growing up. I don't think it would be bad at all - I can camp right outside my place, in the backyard! I'd be a bit worried about bugs (not bed bugs), but if I zip it tightly closed, that shouldn't be a problem. It's finally gotten cooler here now, so the weather's in my favor, too.
I feel much better after being outside playing tennis, so I' leaning toward my coaghing and wheezing being from the DE.

MCW, I'm sorry you're having to endure the terrible acupuncture and that now you're getting a migraine. Hope you feel better soon.

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  18. Oh, MCW, I'm sorry you're hurting and have a migraine to boot. Booo!

GD, I camp a lot too. We've taken to putting a heated mattress pad over our air mattress, then sheets and blankies. Sleeping pad is a mattress pad under the heated mattress pad. Makes a world of difference to roll into a pre-warmed bed :-)

Lainey, I'm sending the very best, nurturing, purring nurse kittehs through the wormhole to you. :-)

  19. This Wednesday is very productive for me. I woke up and felt refreshed. I had a nice breakfast. I went to class. I went to fill out my last form to get the card needed for one of the classes I am taking (that physical I had to get for yoga...needed to turn it in to get a card). I also started writing and turning in letter of recommendation requests.

Oh, I forgot to mention on here! I found out that I got accepted into Psi Chi which is the National Honor Society in Psychology. I'm so excited! The induction is not until December, though. It should help me out a lot in applying to grad school to be a part of that.

  20. Don't want to name names for fear of forgetting anyone - so healing energies to those in need, and congrats to those who are deserving ! And hugs to all.

I started my day with a dead battery in my car. Had to call #2 son to come pick me up and take me to work. I was 1/2 hour late, and no one noticed. Not sure if that is good or bad !?!?

I'd love a chai tea and a cinnamon roll please. Add in a furry purry and I'm set.

  21. Congrats Gini, on making Psi Chi! Brava!

  22. Morning all - I got up when the alarm went off at 7am (set by MrKK when he left at pre-sparrow fart), showered, dressed and was about to wake miniKK when I heard them announce on the radio it was 6.30am! Somehow the bedroom alarm clock got altered by an hour. Don't know if MrKK mistakenly did it when he was resetting the alarm or if he got up an hour earlier too! And i was so enjoying my sleep. Well, I got the washing done and hung, had breakfast, read the paper, made miniKK's school lunch and now just woke her up.

    Congrats Gini!

Posted 2 years ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

  23. Oh no, KK! Good for you for getting things done, but boo! for losing an hour's sleep.

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  24. Just had a call from MrKK - he was early too. He was driving to work and wondered why the bakery he stops at wasn't open. Then he looked at his car clock and realised it was 4.30am!

Oh well - off to work now! Catch you all later.

Posted 2 years ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

  25. 4:30? Ack!

It's not "fall back" week where you are, is it? (when daylight saving time ends)? But that would be on a weekend...

Whatever happened, you have my sympathies on an early alarm. :)

  26. Thanks Kilroy and KK!

My glasses came in the mail today. It's weird wearing glasses. I never even had an eye doctor appointment in my life until recently. I didn't even realize my eyes were bad until I had the physical for my class (before that physical I haven't had a physical in over 8 years...shhhh)

Here they are (with taco lazily checking me out)

I think they are alright. I would prefer contacts but I can't afford the upkeep and monthly contacts so glasses were the choice for me. It's really neat to be able to see things clearly. The trees have leaves! not just green blobs!

Posted 2 years ago by gini #

  27. They look very nice on you Gini ! Yep - nice to be able to see things ! lol

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  28. Hi all.
Sorry KK and 2P..what a day already you have had...
Gini...LOVE the glasses!!! I think they look good.
I took both girls to the dr...no shots needed this visit...They did not have flu shots either since the dr didn't have any. Well let me amend this...they have just enough for certain issues..so Maddie didn't get one but Abbie did and has to go back for a second shot on JAN 4th...holy cow....
I called my Dr for the shot and they don't have any flu shots either so they referred me to CVS, Giant Eagle(grocery store)....nice...
Home now..going to have dinner in about an hour then it's the night time rush for bed and such.

Great news....Maddie had underwear on all day(except the dr visit when she had on a pull up) and she has gone on the potty 2 times already..only had 1 accident...she's doing great. We don't have to go anywhere the next couple of days so I hope to keep her in underwear all day the next few days and see how we do...still doing the diaper at night though for now....Not sure how to tackle that one.

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  29. Gini, I really like your new glasses. And yes, being able to see is a *good thing*.

Yay Maddie! What a grown up girl she is!

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  30. Thank you so much for the compliments CM 2P and Kilroy!

    WTG Maddie!!! That's great news!
