OMG! Went to get a haircut after lunch with my friend today, and they scalped me! AARRGGHH! Not sure to cry or scream. Hair was nicely on my shoulders when I went in, and I asked for a chin length bob. Pretty self explanatory, right? NOT!!!!! My hair is now at the longest point to the base of my ears. GRRRRRRR! My hair is shorter then my boys hair. OMG! I know it will grow, but I am so upset. If I could wear a hat to work, I seriusly would. Tomorrow is going to be a nightmare. (Sniff,sob,whine)

Oh DM, you have my sympathy. Buy some styling mud or mousse and have some fun shaping your hair to how you feel happy with it. Make your own style. i have a new hair cut that I really don't like, but I was quite happy for the hair dresser to experiment on me as my hair grows quickly, you had no idea this was going to happen.

{{{hugs}}} maybe the hair dresser didn't really know what a 'bob' was, can't imagine that but there is a chance of it. Have had it happen to me, so can sympathize with you on it.

My mom used to cut my hair when I was a little girl. I remember one time she just kept snipping and snipping my bangs and when she got done they were so short they stuck straight out! No kidding! My dad laughed, but I was mortified (well, as mortified as a ten year old can be). I cried for weeks. Didn't want to go to school.
Years later I realized my mom had a problem with alcohol and that's why she couldn't stop trimming my bangs, she never got them straight across my forehead.

What is it with hairdressers???!!! They always cut too much off. Does she know the difference between a nose and a chin? Last time I went I asked for a half-inch trim--should have brough a ruler with me to show her.

I'm an oddball and everytime I go to get my hair done, someone always points out: OMG do you know how low your hairline is? OMG you gotta see this (calling all the shampoo girls and stylists over, including the gal who has done my hair for years). Did you see that? (Like she hasn't!). Anyway, because of that my hair never gets cut too short, so I guess i'm lucky. But, I have had some bad cuts... and yes, it does grow out... Sorry to hear about that, Julie, but do try and have some fun with it while it's growing!

I am so sorry for the bad cut. The good side is that hair grows back--after a horrible time of trying to get it to do something you want. I am hoping that you can find someone better that can do something better with your hair. In the meantime please remember that it will grow and that you are more beautiful than your hair.
