Can cats get hiccups?

(8 posts)
  1. Biddy has been making a noise this morning. I thought at first he was coughing up a furball but upon further inspection it seems he has the hiccups. Is there anything I can do for him? I know how to get rid of them in humans... hold the breath... but getting a cat to hold his breath well that just isn't going to happen. Any advice is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Liz

  3. Yup! Try scratching his ears or any other purr triggers.
