  1. Oh and yes, I know several folks here have my cell number. Of course if I am in the hospital, it will be turned off!

  2. MC, send FF a text message and can you send someone a text message with the hospital info when you go in?? Not only will you have to have your cell phone off, but I guessing you won't feel like talking on the phone at first.

  5. I was in a meeting all day yesterday, so had mine on silent... then wondered why I missed 2 calls from my daughter in the evening... Answer: hadn't changed the stting back to normal... it can happen!

  6. NC, I do that all the time. The only time I turn off (or silence) my phone is for meetings at certain client sites - which doesn't happen that often. It can easily be a day or 2 before I realize it has been off.

  9. I'm very distressed to hear that the doctor is so worried about your leak, Amy. I'm glad he got mad at his staff, though. Now you can probably call because you have a hangnail and the office staff would page him out of surgery for you.

    This is a setback, but it's still only one step back for the two you've taken. With all the TDK crew pulling for you, you will overcome this.

  18. Its me! I am here, I got sucked into a LONG conversation with a patient's daughter. It was AWFUL! She ripped me a new one several times. I am so glad I had witnesses because my coworkers know that I have had this conversation with her at least 6 times before. She was so mean to me! Then she said "You seem distracted! Pay attention to ME!" Let's see I have a hole in my head, I am distracted. No scan today, couldn't get me in, gotta go next week.

  19. OMG MC, you should have smacked that stupid woman. And why on Earth is the radiologist so busy that they can't fit you in? Probably overrun with whiners and other idiots, clogging up the healthcare system and pushing aside real emergencies. Grrrrr.

  20. ya know, we said she needs drugs because she is so two faced. We make sure to always have two people there so she can't come back and get us. They already got kicked out of another facility and I now see why! AARGH!

MC i am sorry you had it out with a pt's family.. some people think they have a sense of entitlment and they are so ignorant... i'm glad you had witnesses during the conversation.. i hate mean families who think the world revolves around them... i have had many people mean to me over the years , well just last weekend anyway.. they think we have no feelings or not human.... ontop of all you are going through you didn't need that !@#$%% ( not a fluffy word), screaming at you... you did a good job handling that @@#%^& ( not a fluffy word) .... i have been thinking about you all day and hoped you are well.... back to work for me tommrow... where it will be my turn to get yelled at....

  27. Exactly what my Director of Nursing said, you would think that patient's dad was our ONLY patient. He has a degernative disease and it won't get better. She can't seem to accept that. Anyways, I do feel the love and prayers. As for when next week, the hospital has to call me. They are there until 730pm tonight. Keep waiting.......but insurance DID approve.

  28. yes patient's families are the worst, and the DON was correct ,,, i think alot of this posturing on the families part is "guilt" .. they are trying to make up for their own shortcomings in the past .. they take it out on us... alot of them are also in denial and don't want to face the end results.. you did a good job MC .. i hope you haer from the hospital soon , glad to hear your insurance is approving this... they better or out comes my wack bonk stick again,,,,,

  29. Oh Lord! It's too slow between the ins. companies and now the scheduling of the tests. Something this serious should absolutely take some priority. I can't believe you have to go to work MC and deal with the likes of that rude, lowly, idiot when you should be on a guerney and getting the attention of the radiologist! I hope you will be with FF this weekend and he'll keep a close watch on you. Holding you close in prayer and white light. =(
