Ahh, all done! The guy who worked with me said that I certainly had this testing thing down pat! I know all the answers to all the questions, I know which veins are good and which are bad, what my likes and dislikes are, how to adjust the table to make it comfy for my head. He was really great, retired military and no nonsense, just like I like em. Don't BS me, just shoot straight. So he said all my scans would be read tonight by the overnight trauma radiologist and the other stuff could take up to two days. Found out today my neurosurgeon is on vacation this week so no news until next week at the earliest. I did ask if there was anything in my head and he said "sure is!". :P

Opahall posted last night that you were throwing up. Did you mention that to the doctor today? Make sure you are telling him everything. It could be a symptom of something critical. I am thankful the test went well and continued prayer. Don't forget that you have his number--vacation or no he left his patients with another neurosurgeon.

Yes SM, that's how I found out that he was on vacation. I got some neuro guy that couldn't speak a lick of English. Kinda concerned me he had any idea what I was talking about!

MC, I have been gone and am so behind in finding all of this. You must let someone know about the nausea and vomiting. That will create pressure that you don't need right now.
What a trial you are going through! I wish that some of us were closer to be there with you.

staying home today, my neck is so stiff i can't move my head. of course I have a bit of a headache. Guess I will get in touch with the on call doctor and let him know.

Amy, I was off the list for several days due to work and I didn't see this thread yesterday. Know that you have my prayers as strong as I can get them to go! I wish I lived closer and could check up on you in person. Mr. KYKAT and I are sending you gentle hugs and healing white light. TXT or call me any time you need someone to be a mom type and say "poor baby" and tell you to get rest and fluids.
Question, did FF ever sell the 2nd house? Could you rent it from him? That would at least get you in a place where he could cut you some slack if you get behind. I am worried for you on so many fronts so will continue the prayers.

he was in big trouble financially so he rented it out to a couple who lost their house in foreclosure. he is getting the FULL mortgage payment from them so who can complain? that way he doesn't have to worry about that one payment.

Well I am glad for him that he is no longer getting stuck with two payments. Hopefully they are good tennants. Will keep up the prayers that God will provide one way or another.

Yes, SM, I was. The test for meningitis and encephalitis both came back as negative. Thank goodness the only thing that has come back is a yeast infection in my incision. He was not surprised seeing that our hair "catches" everything just walking outside. I slept the day away today on and off a heating pad. I feel world's better and the on call guy thinks it is just my posturing and holding my head tight. Since I am also missing the first one and half vertebrae I probably just brought it on myself. Since the heat helped they are not too concerned. I will feel much better when my NS is back from vacation! Thanks for the continued concern and love to you all!

I'm having kind of a hard time understanding the doctor here. First, he says this is very, very bad, and yells at the office worker that the scans have to be done TOMORROW, THIS CAN'T WAIT. The scans end up waiting until the following week. The doctor gives you a way to contact him immediately, then goes on vacation without telling you or letting you know how to contact someone in his absence. What he's saying and what he's doing don't seem to match.

MC, so glad to hear you got in for the tests... and esp relieved that the enceph and mening tests came back clear! I am amazed that they have not had you flat on your back for an extended preiod until this settles down. When I had just a spinal tap when in Peace Corps (at a much younger age than I am now) I made the mistake of sitting up too soon and had a headache for days! and a stiff neck... Would a hard or soft cervical collar help support your head, or would it put too much pressure on your incision? Hope you get a good night's sleep! Gentle hugs, headbonks and purrs from the whole crew downriver!
