Hey everybody!
So in school, im taking wood shop as a course (just to build cool stuff). Iv already completed a shelf and am looking for ideas on my second project. Just an idea of what people so far are making (A picnic table, A Lamp table, A desk, etc etc)
I was thinking about making something for my kitten Raja.
Anyone have any ideas?

Here are some fancy cat trees that might be fun to build: http://www.bestcattreeplans.com/cat-tree-plans/index.html?hop=oo0oo

Oh the things are limitless! Go to a pet store and walk around or on a website and look at all the cool things for kitties. I'm sure you will come up with something and you can use different materials (always makes the shop teacher happy to see students thinking outside the box... of course, it's been um, well, too many years since I took shop!). Let us know what you end up making and share pictures, too!

I have seen whole rooms converted into cat playrooms. They have tunnels and steps up the wall to play areas near the ceiling. Cats love to be up high so a series of steps leading to a ledge near the ceiling might be a good project. I'll try to find some pictures online. :)

lol ok Lainey Il consider a cat tree. Of late he seems to love climbing my shoulder...
Kitten whisperer, I was having that SAME idea before, with like a big maze and areas to climb (like a castle). The problem is, I need to know how wide itl be, What exactly I wanna make, etc etc.I was thinking to use the castle i make as like a treasure hunt game (hide food n treats there)

You can design the size to be anything you like that will work in your available space. You can draw it to scale on graph paper so you will know how much wood you will need and how to cut it. Things you build will need proper structural supports so they don't collapse or fall over. Do you have a corner in your bedroom that you could devote to this? Would your parents let you attach anything to the walls?

Hmm i can devote space to it...He mainly hangs in my room and an empty guest room. However, Im NOT allowed to nail anything to the wall unless its like tacks and paper...So i guess il have to build a standalone project. I really like the cat palace idea. I might expand on it by adding 2 smaller rooms and a bigger place for him to relax on the top (So he can still use it when he becomes fat from all the treats im spoiling him with).
