  5. Silly question alert, AZDeb: how often does Arizona get white Christmases?

Posted 4 weeks ago by Vicki #

  6. I'd like hot tea and comfort food this morning, which means pancakes and bacon, home fries, and milk, please. *scritches to agency kittehs*

  7. We are cold but ok. Wilma is being adventurous and coming out of the bedroom more. I am the same, couldn't sleep so went to WalMart at 4am. It was great as no one was there. Of course I went for four things and came home with a cart full. But it did include kitty treats!

  8. Hey, as long as you got the kitty essentials, what more matters in a shopping trip, right?

Sorry you couldn't sleep. Hope you get feeling better, much better, for the day. *healing prayers*

  10. Night MS. Enjoy your spring weather.

  11. Night MS.
    Morning Marnet and Vicki.
I have done that before MC..many times...I used to go to Walmart when Maddie was a little baby and do it early so I didn't have to deal with the crowds and we were home by 7am :)

  12. Silly question USA TDK'ers, but is this the weekend we do daylight savings time? It was sooooooo nice to be there that early, I spent two hours there. I could actually look at stuff. I need to do some "work" on my duplex and it was nice to really get time to explore. I may do that the next time I need to shop. Only thing is I would love to go into Wisconsin to shop. At my Walmart sales tax is 10%, Wisconsin 5%. We are "supposed" to go to the courthouse and pay the remaining 5% tax to the city but who the heck is that honest????

  13. No MC, this isn't the weekend...actually I think it might be next weekend.

Posted 4 weeks ago by cricketsmama #

  14. Nope, not the weekend to "fall back." That will be next weekend on Saturday night/Sunday morning, Oct. 31/Nov.1.

Posted 4 weeks ago by Marnet #

  15. 10% sales tax??? that's insane...ours is 7.75 or somewhere close and if we go to the next county it's like 5.5%...I don't blame you for going to Wisconsin

  16. Morning CM, Marnet, Vicki, and MC (hope I didn't miss anyone)

Vicki, yes it actually does snow in AZ, some of the mountain areas it snows quite a bit.

CM, Max is doing fine, actually getting some energy back (wish he would share with me).

  17. Daylight Saving Time in the US begins on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November. In 2009, it therefore began on Sunday, March 8 at 2 a.m. and ends on Sunday, November 1 at 2 a.m.

Time moves ahead one hour in March, whereas it moves back one hour in November (hence the saying "Spring forward, Fall back").

In many western European countries, Daylight Saving Time begins on the last Sunday of March and concludes in October on the last Sunday of that month.

  18. energy? What's that Deb...I have none especially today. Yay for Max though :)

Posted 4 weeks ago by cricketsmama #

  19. CM, me neither, he was actually running for a short time today.

  20. Yay Max! I was hoping for an extra hour of sleep this weekend. Oh well, next weekend! This whole time change thing confuses me. When I grew up much more south, we NEVER changed time ever. We were in that small pocket of very southern Indiana that never changes along with (I think) Arizona. We are the two outliers in the whole USA. Never understood why we didn't change when everyone all around us did. I think last year they "trialed" a time change in my mom's area and everyone threw such a big fit they stopped it again this year. I am not sure how you can decide whether you want to change time or not. Yes, CM 10% and in some places as high as 12.75%. That hurts let me tell you. When I go home to Indiana I always figure on 10% and am pleasantly surprised!

  21. I don't get the whole time change either and I personally think it's stupid..but hey that's me...
Abbers is up so I must go. Wayne is going to the library to study this morning so I am on my own with the girls. Hugs to everyone!!

Posted 4 weeks ago by cricketsmama #

  22. Hugs to those two beautiful babies of yours! Or I guess Maddie is now three, she is a BIG little girl! How is potty training going?

    Posted 4 weeks ago by mollycat71 #

  23. Potty training is going awesome..she can pee in the potty with no problems and even tells us when she needs to go. Pooping(sorry) is another story..she wants to go in a diaper or pull up...which I guess is common, so we are working on that..night time she wasn't getting any sleep because she was worried about accidents so we decided to do pull ups at night but if she wakes up and asks to go potty we will take her.

Posted 4 weeks ago by cricketsmama #

  24. yay maddie, you are coming right along!

    Posted 4 weeks ago by mollycat71 #

  25. CM, yay for Maddie!!

Posted 4 weeks ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  26. Morning All! Well then MC, come to Wisconsin! Can't understand why anyone would want to come here, but.....teeheehee. I believe that in the Dells, we pay more for sales tax than around where we are! It is a half percent more there! I think changing the time is downright stupid :)
Yahoo for little Maddie! Hope you feel better, MC, and also to those who are feeling a bit under the weather!

Posted 4 weeks ago by katthays #

  27. MC, consider the purchases at the Wisconsin Wal-Marts 'gifts' to be brought into Illinois; who would be so anal as to tax a gift?

  28. Afternoon all!...... Been a busy Saturday for me!..... Hubbs and I are working around the house all day, still unpacking, painting, and replacing a ceiling on my porch/office. HRH Cuddles has not been happy, as she hates things "moved around", so she has sulked all day in her bowl (beanbag).......Daughter called in the midst of all the hoopla, and said "Mom, I need you to go get a paper signed that says they can release my car to me".... it was towed last night, and they won't release it because it's in your name"......aaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!!! She and some friends went to a club last night.... apparently she had a couple of drinks, so she didn't want to drive home (good girl) and left her car in the parking lot.... when she went to get it this morning, it had been towed...... I was proud of her for doing the right thing and not driving, but then I had to run around like a crazy woman trying to find somewhere open that could notarize the paper for me, and then fax it to the impound place...... finally found an Amscot, so all is well... Daughter just called, has the car and everything is fine...... lesson learned - I told her next time, don't even drive there if you think you might order a drink...get a group of friends (4 or 5) and split a cab there and home..... cheap, safest and easy........

  29. Hiya AV, you HAVE been busy! Sounds like hubbs is out of quarantine. Hope he is well. I am proud of your daughter too, wish more people, especially the young ones, would not drive after drinking. You are right, that is a lesson learned but I bet she doesn't do it again! Have a great day with Abby and Cuddles.

    Posted 3 weeks ago by mollycat71 #

  30. Afternoon everyone :)

AV, the business actually 'towed' the vehicle after being in their parking lot not even more than 1 day? What a cheesy thing to do, especially if it was a drinking establishment, wouldn't go there again....but that would be me.
