  1. Hey family!

I love the prayers from this family! Saw one of dad's doc's just a bit ago and we (dad, me and doc) had a convo:

    1. Dad does not have any "end stage" illness. Just chronic conditions that are to be expected at his age and older (he's 83).
    2. No time line as to how much "time" he has left. Could he die from the pneumonia? Yes. Can he live another year? Yes. Could he pass in a month? Yes
    3. Dad knows and accepts now that he is never really going to "walk" again. He is however, kinda down as he doesn't want to live like he is now (back and forth to the hospital).
    4. He knows how loved, wanted, needed, incredible and viable he is!
    5. He does not nor will not end his own life nor ask anyone to help him do so (I'm too chicken he says!)
    6. His mind is ALL there. A little slower than before this began, but all there.
    7. He knows his body is giving out and he knows all of the above. He is tired... physically and emotionally, that is harder than anything.

I'm, as my New England cousins would say, wicked tired. I may come on later but right now just need to unwind.

Vicki- OMG my sister.. yes, she would and is capable of hurting my dad. He knows that either myself, my brother or my other sister will always be there once he gets home. Long story and lots of drama... he doesn't want to throw her out (she has no where to go and no job and and oh, lots of other stuff) but when dad does go to heaven, well, that will be another story (and he will throw her out if he HAS to).

I love you all. Please keep praying for my daddy. The most important prayer for all of is that when his time does come that he pass at home and not a hospital. That is all he wants.

  2. So glad to hear you had this conversation. You sound a lot calmer now. Hope you get some rest, and yes, we will continue our prayers for your dad. He has a great daughter in you, Lainey. Take care of yourself too!

  3. This sounds soooo much better than the other day! I still pray that he can return home and be allowed to live life on his terms. I understand wanting to be in your own home.
