Godd morning, all. As you are waking up (or before you go to bed: whichever), I am setting out goodies and firing up the griddle. Available are chicken sausage, turkey sausage (sorry, HM), beef bacon, turkey bacon (again, sorry, HM), steak, vegetarian sausage (no, not made from vegetarians), organic grass-fed eggs (the eggs come from grass-fed chickens), bagels, croissants, oatmeal, toast, (American) biscuits with butter, scones, pancakes with maple syrup, waffles with whipped cream and fruit, hash browns, homefries, fruit juices, fruit salad; red, pink and white grapefruit with honey; vegetable juice cocktail, tomato juice (yes, in that culinary borderline between fruit and vegetable; botanically a fruit, but prepared as a vegetable), tea, coffee, and hot apple cider. Notice the absence of pork on the menu: as President Obama has declared H1N1 (swine flu) a national emergency, no pork products will be served today.

Good Morning Vicki!....... I got a lot accomplished yesturday, and this morning Hubbs and I were up early again, unpacking...... finally down to the last box, and I found all my pretty Christimas china and my Thanksgiving platter that was my grandmothers!..... I've so missed those things, they've been packed up for over a year, and I didn't unpack them last holiday season, as we had just sold our house and had no idea where we would be!..... it was so nice to unpack all those things, and I'm so happy I'll be able to use them this season.......
.... your breakfast buffet sounds yummmy.... nom, nom, nom..... how are you this lovely morning?

Hi Abs and Vicki! I'll stay away from the meat as I have already had a bacon/swisscheese/onion omelet courtesy of hubs. But I will take some fruit and more java!! Abs, are you at a new home? I Have missed a lot lately.

I may need to head back to JoAnn Fabrics to pick up some more fabric for a pair of pajamas I'm making. I'm not too too worried about whether I'll find it; it's BF orange flannel with 20s printed on it in one direction (the 20s indicating NASCAR driver Tony Stewart's number while he was driving the Home Depot car [#20]; he has since changed both numbers [#14] and sponsors [Office Depot/Old Spice/Burger King]). You know how the pattern envelope instructions tell you to buy more fabric if you have a one-directional design? Follow those instructions religiously, or your piece layout will be seriously jacked-up. What may have happened is that the fabric shrank a LOT when I preshrank my fabric (thank God the fabric shrank before I made the pajamas, or I would have been p!$$ed if it had shrunk after I made the pajamas). I'll probably need maybe a yard.

You sound like a good seamstress, Vicki.....I HATE to sew...anything, even a button on. UGH!!! Didn't know you were a NASCAR fan.....I like Dale E. and Bobby Labonte. Although, I have to admit, I have not watched as much racing as I used to. Just seems I haven't been around or whoever is here doesn't want to watch races!

Good morning! The sun is shining brightly after a rainy couple of days. It was fun, though, to decorate my new living room with some halloween stuff while the rain came down in buckets yesterday. We even had a window open as it was fairly mild. Leela loved that! Today I'm going to try to gather the clutter that is our summer stuff and box it up.

Popping back in to say Hi!.... Yes, SOM, Hubbs and I moved again, this one should be a semi-permanent place - one we can split between Tampa and NC when we are able to do that!......
.... Son is home from UF, just for a bit today, he's going thru some of his boxes & stuff, so that we can get everything stored that needs to be, and unpack the stuff that doesn't....... we're going over to Brother in Law's house in a little while for lunch - his oldest Son (34) just had the first "grand child" for our generation (ick, how can I be in the grandma generation yet?)....... She's a precious little girl, just turned one!

*Fixes a plate of boneless ribs from her kitchen and brings them with her*
I worked with a grandmother who was - gulp - 29. She had a 15 year old daughter who gave birth. She said it was very common in her family and where she was from, which was somewhere I can't remember.

Awww HM, and Vicki!.... you guys really know how to make me feel good!..... *samples* a rib from HM's plate (yummm!!!!)....... BIL made a nice pork loin, with yellow rice and gumbo (Southern style)..... biscuts and gravy.... it was a nice lunch!......
..... Hubbs and I have been working on replacing the ceiling in our porch, and you'd be amazed the difference it made!.... the old ceiling was a cedar (dark) wood.... we primed it, then painted it and glued up white tiles - I swear it rose 5' just by making the dark wood dissappear!.....We put french doors in that go from the house to the porch, and installed a cat flap, so Cuddles and Abby can access the porch, which is where their litter boxes & food bowls are! It's really cool - it has windows all around, and has it's own separate A/C unit, so I can cool it down fast if I want to spend time out there!.....
I guess everyone is having a lazy Sunday - enjoy all!

Vicki, you do know that you can't contract swine flue from eating pork products, right?
http://patients.about.com/od/patientempowermentissues/tp/swineflumyths.htmAV, can you believe the Buc's lost another game today?!
-
I'm liking your porch too, AV. Sounds like a wonderful place to relax with the kitties!

Field trip to AV's porch! Bucs may have lost but my Colts are still undefeated! YAY! OMG! Why are men so stupid!? Talking to FF today and he says "maybe we should slow down now that you are sick. Why don't you get in touch with me when things are all better?" Seriously!? I will NEED him now more than ever!!!

I actually am making barbeque pork chops tonight. I am roasting an acorn squash and makine broccoli and rice casserole. For dessert I am making baked apples. The Jonathons are very tart and the cinnamon sugar will balance the taste nicely.
38 is far too young to be a grandmother in my family. I know I look forward to the day my daughter decides to have children, but I sure hope she lives some first to know what she wants. The college experience will be easier without raising a child too.

I am gonna go to SM's first for dinner, then to AV's to hang out for dessert and ice tea. Would have a martini but with my head I am gonna stick to the easy stuff. Yeah, Joan I said the same thing. Asked him if there was someone else and he said "No!!! I just think for now you need to concentrate on your head". Then I asked him if maybe it scared him and he said yes and he didn't want to see me go thru this.

WAIT!!! *chases after MC headed to SM's house* I wanna come too!
Leela went to see Betty and Wilma anyway. She wants to plan some special stuff for Lydia's birthday party.
BTW, MC - did I ever tell you that my mom's name is Betty and hubby's mom's name is Wilma?Posted 2 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #
