  1. well my cat spaz ever since i brought him home has been doing this certain move, his tail will get bushy, his back hairs will be up just a little bit, he will stand on his him legs and his front legs will be in this almost scissor stans and then he will hop side ways. and he will do this occasionally not like he used to. what is he doing? its cute to watch him do it though. im guessing we r just surprising him when we get up off the couch or go in the kitchen. i just realized something, he only does it in the kitchen.

  2. He's feelin' his Spazzie oats, SweetAmy...it's so cute when they mock ferociousness!

  3. He is practicing scaring off the big dangerous predator after him and/or his food.

The bushy tail arched back makes him look bigger and the stiff legged bouncy moves says, back-off or I'll attack.

Since he trusts you it is just mock behavior for when he needs to know how to tree a bear.

  7. I absolutely love when my kittens do that. The sad thing is that Gus actually thinks he looks fierce and tough when he's doing it.

  8. My part Siamese Sushi was the best at Side Dancing...she would hop around the Living Room like she had springs in her legs!!! Dot is more peaceful now that she is older and Crockey is plain ol' mellow!

  9. my kit will be so intent on "scaring" me that he'll hop right into a wall if he's not careful. i get worried and try to tend to him, then he turns right back around and starts hoppity hopping. it is the cutest thing to see him pretend to be big!

  10. I understand that my feline sister Darlene used to do this with our feline brothers. Don't know how impressed they were by it, though.
