Y'all remember the incident with my sister assaulting me last month. I had called the police and filed a report and then heard nothing about it. Apparently there is a court case in a few days I have heard NOTHING about. She is the defendant and the State Of Idaho is the Plantiff. I have recieved NO papers or anything about this. So I am truly confused. Am I supposed to go or just do nothing???? HELP

Call the DA's office and find out. If you have been summoned and do not report, you are in hot water. Sometimes the officer hands you the summons at the time of the incident report and if you were not clear that it was a summons you may have discarded the paper.

Maybe you should contact the police and ask them. It's possible they have the wrong address for you. Maybe they've been sending mail to you at your sister's house.
You should also contact the District Attorney's office (or whatever the equilent is in Idaho) as they are probably the office representing the Plaintiff.
I'm not sure how the State plans to present and win a case without you to testify. And if they are expecting you to be there and you don't show up, you could be in trouble.
Start making phone calls right now even though you are going to get put on hold a lot. And make sure to write down who you talk to, what they said, time and date, and where they referred you to. You'll need that record if the State comes after you for not appearing.

Got a call back this afternoon from the prosector. He says there is nothing I can do, it is between the state (meaning him) and my sister and her public defender. If it goes to court then I will be summoned as will my oldest son who was there when it took place.
Just too much BS in my life here. I came to Id. with the promises of family support and help, and it turns into a psycho free for all. So here I am stuck in the middle of 3 siblings that all hate me or just want to use me. Feeling so totally overwhelmed. But then again what else is new in my life.
Sorry for whining yet again. It seems to be my trade mark these days.

We had to in our minds divorce the other 3 and have no contact with them whatsoever as they were dragging down the rest of the family. They just didn't learn to be civilized with their sibs and us. When they can act civil they may be allowed back into the family.
This could be a good thing with your sister as now she is in the system and hopefully can change her life around. Just keep raising your boys the way you are. We love you Julie!! {{DM}}

I know it's a cliche (every cliche begins as a truth) but if you're feeling you're at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on. Seriously.
Take stock of what you've got and the resources available to you. I know from personal experience that family drama sucks badly, but you have to put shoulders up straight and not take crap from people, family or otherwise.

Julie you've been amazingly strong to now...keep it up. I'm sorry to hear things with sister have come to this but think as 2b said that when the state presses charges and if it goes to trial..they'll contact you to testify. Hang tough hon...we're all your family and we're real proud that you're doing all you need to do for yourself and your beautiful sons! =)

DM friends want to help you--you have to tell when something is worng so that we can help. You are not even beginning to whine in my book! I am really praying that this will be dealt with a plea and you and your son don't need to deal with this. You are rebuilding your life, and it is very stressful. Continue to be the strong beautiful woman you have always been--there will be light at the end of the tunnel. You and the boys are what is important--remember how you are valued here!
