  1. Thank goodness its Thursday today! It has been ONE LONG WEEK! We have a full buffet of breakfast goodies and hot beverages to start your day. Please come and scritch a chin or belly, nuzzle a nose or hug a kit! They are very needy today. I have a busy one today like the rest of you. I feel much better today and am getting along better too. YAY! The girls can now sleep within a foot of each other on the bed and FF admitted he is very scared/worried about my head. Ah, all is well in my world! Hope you all have a great day/night! MEOW to you!

  2. Oh boy, I can feel the warmth just oozing out of you today! Good Morn, Amy. I will just browse, grab some coffee and vittles. You just have the bestest day today girlfriend.

  3. Morning! It has been a long workweek, and not enough extra time. My sister is visiting from out of state and I would love to have been able to take time off, but it's one of the worst weeks for me to be out. Anywho, I have been able to visit with her on my lunch breaks and after work.

  4. Good morning, all! Quiet morning here at work today. No word on our receptionist yet this morning. Hope everyone has a good day.

  6. Hi Chey - how have you been? I don't like getting up before the sun, it doesn't seem good for the soul (mine anyway!). I don't like having to turn on lights in the morning either. When we had our house done, we specifically had the bedroom facing the east/south.

  7. Morning everyone, hope that you have a nice day out in the world.

  8. Morning, all. MC, I'm so glad things are better in your world; wish I could say the same about mine. Mr. K is still being mostly silent and I don't know what to say or do. "Just be there" doesn't help much when the silence in our apartment is deafening. Plus, we're supposed to leave in less than a week for a vacation, which is supposed to include something I've been looking forward to for 13 years (can't really go into specifics) and now I just feel guilty about taking him away from his family when they need him.

  9. Happy Friday's Eve day to all...a month from today will be Thanksgiving in the US...wow, this year has flown! Had a nice catch-up visit with a friend last nite, we only seem to visit 2x's per year...so yak,yak over pie/banana creme! So, I will only do java today and smoochies to the little blondie kit on the way out! Wishes for a good day/nite to all!

  10. Good Morning! It is STILL snowing here in the Denver metro area and all the schools and most of the businesses are closed as a result. We have around 10-12 inches in the birdbath, according to Richard, and it is supposed to snow throughout the day. The drifts in the yard are near 2 feet and growing. I don't think I will be going anywhere for days - I call our neighborhood the forgotten stepchild because we almost never get our streets plowed by the county and when/if they do, they will just block all our driveways with the piled snow! As I said yesterday, I have lived in snow country long enough to know to be hunkered down and well provisioned so I don't mind being stuck at home. But I do miss Florida this time!

  11. Good morning all!
MC, I'm so glad your girls are getting along better and happy FF is behaving himself. LK, I hope your receptionist will be alright!
Kilroy, so sorry about Mr.Kilroy's sister and his friend. Sometimes it's hard to know what to say or do. GG has been in a bad mood this week - says he's stressed out and had a few "bizarre" days. Don't know what he meant by that. I sort of left him alone, but we texted back and forth. He seems better now and wants me to come over after work tonight. He says he wants to feed me ice cream to make up for being in such a funk lately :)
Anyway, I hope Mr. Kilroy comes to terms with things and you can enjoy your vacation.

  12. Good morning, Everyone! It was too chilly to ride today so Mr. WWM introduced me to my new friend, the indoor trainer. He has some DVD's with training programs on them and they are positively painful! We did an 1 1/2 workout and I didn't even know that I could sweat that much. How disgusting.

Kilroy, I'm so sorry and am also not sure what to tell you. I would suggest a book for Mr. Kilroy that is called When Bad Things Happen to Good People. Maybe it will help him to put all of this into perspective. Don't cancel your vacation and don't feel guilty about going. One, it will help him to be away and two, his family's needs are not going to go away. The hardest days with Rosemary still lie ahead. You can't put your life on hold because life will always throw yet another curve ball. If anything, what has happened to Rich should be a lesson to Mr. Kilroy to live.

Posted 4 months ago by WillowandWindismom #

  13. Thanks, WWM. I just feel so helpless right now (my boss wouldn't even give me time off to go with Mike to Rich's funeral today). And between Rich and Rosemary, I've been thinking way too much about the fact that the love of my life is 26 years older than I am, and what that might mean someday.

  14. Morning all! Karen, glad you are prepared to hunker down. Do your best to stay warm and dry!

Kilroy, I am so sorry that Mr. K is still working things out in his head. I do hope you both go on vacation. You will need the time to re-charge your batteries so that you have something to give. Mr. K's sister's condition is a long term one. Speaking from experience, you need to manage your lives with that in mind. That means still living, still doing the things you need to do and then working with the rest of the family to do for her the best that you all can.

Today, I am drinking an atkins shake and wishing it was a donut instead! I have the plumber coming at some point today to fix a leaky shower and was up and cleaning my bathroom, bedroom, kitchen etc this morning and didn't have time for a proper breakfast. I generally keep something on hand at work for days like these. Send some good vibes that the plumber can easily fix our leak and doesn't have to bust through the wall and do major repairs. I am really not in the mood to have to replaster and re-paint in the bathroom.

  15. Kilroy, my dad was almost 23 years older than my mom. She passed away unexpectedly 14 years ago at the age of 47 while my dad is still going strong today at 83. You just never know what life may bring.

Posted 4 months ago by GreatDane #

  16. Kilroy, sometimes it's hard for people to think in terms of life continuing onward when something happens out of normal. But things do go back to "normal" when the person can think of how he needs to be for everyone else, and not just for himself.
Karen, we are getting reports here in the Midwest about your snowstorm. Isn't this a little early to be getting that much snow?!

Posted 4 months ago by LadyKat of IA #

  17. Kilroy---I second what WWM said. Please read that book-it's such a wonderful book and should be on everyone's bookshelves.

It's very humid and rainy here--boo hiss hiss!!! I'm crossing my fingers for a rain-free winter so that builders can do their jobs! :)

Long time, no see GD! Are the bedbugs gone yet?

Posted 4 months ago by FondaHonda #

  18. LK - not really - but it is breaking snowfall records in Wyoming and this is the biggest/most October snowfall since 1997. I have been here since 1977 and have seen snow in Denver in June (of course it melted quick!) We typically have a snowy Halloween and still see lots of kids out trick or treating, so I would be surprised to see them let it stop them this year. It is supposed to start slowing down around 6 PM and then if we get enough sun tomorrow and Saturday it will help. Gotta go - Richard wants pancakes and bacon for breakfast and since he is painting the bathroom today just to keep busy and not drive me crazy, I've got to do that. Talk to ya'll later!

Posted 4 months ago by KarenCentennial #

  19. Hi FH! The bed bugs are still around. Not as many as before, but they're still here. I've been sleeping in the back of my Jeep to avoid getting bit. Not getting a whole lot of sleep that way.
    How are you feeling?

Posted 4 months ago by GreatDane #

  20. GD, still in the Jeep? Oh No! That is awful. Evil bedbugs!

  21. What a day! I've spent the last two days trying to get the Rx for my eyes so that I can get some glasses for riding my bike rather than wearing my contacts. What seemed like a simple task just took forever!

Kilroy, one thing that's causing Mr. K to be sad and introspective is that it's so very hard to come face to face with our own mortality. When I was doing hospice, the hardest deaths to face were my patients who were my age or younger. For a while I spent so much time worrying that I truly forgot to live. My nursing Rx is that Mr. K needs to go on vacation, have a wonderful time and quit pondering death.

  22. Goodmorning all, it's very cold here this morning, a late winter blast shot through yesterday. Had to drag out the winter camisole this morning and I'm off to play in a sink of hot water to warm my hands, otherwise known as doing the dishes. The sun is out and the day will get warmer I hope.

    Posted 4 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  23. I hope you get good glasses, WWM. I just had an eye exam and got told again "that's the best we can do for your right eye" when "the best we can do" isn't good enough and everything is blurry :( Stupid eyes. Just another thing about this past week that stunk.

  24. *pats Kilroy on the head and hands her a chocolate martini*

Um, the problem with correcting my vision to where I want it seems to have a direct correlation to the number of birthdays that I've had. But riding with contacts when you live in West Texas isn't such a good idea. When the wind blows it's so easy to get what feels like a boulder under the contact lens. Then I start tearing and can't see, and for someone who has already taken more than her share of tumbles off of the bike, that's not a good combination!

  25. Have you tried goggles WWM?

    Posted 4 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  26. Dishes done, hands warmed up now. Off outside to pot up cherry tomato seedlings I've been germinating. Now all we need is warm weather.

    Posted 4 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  27. MS, goggles just aren't cute!

Posted 4 months ago by WillowandWindismom #

  28. LOL, you could start a craze. Pink goggles with butterflies or even cute kitties around them.
Seven cherry tomato seedlings potted now until they get bigger and the days warmer, then into tubs. Had to throw 5 seedlings out as I had way too many, hate tossing good plants. Potting out hollyhock seedlings now until they big and strong enough to plant into garden.

  29. i've been puttering around the apt. and around town today. i went to send a fax and took the wrong fax number with me. baby back bbq pork ribs for lunch. then i got home i realized i wrote the wrong fax number down, saw a good dvd movie, and have picking up mainly in the porch and kitchen. i talked to my mother today. she is still coming down Friday, but only for a few minutes, and to drop off some homegrown carrots for me. i have a private halloween party to go to on saturday, and i will have to pull out things from various closets for my costume. i will be an Italian renaissance woman from the early 1500's...

Posted 4 months ago by Cheri 12/22 #

  30. Oh, MS, it is a shame you had to throw seedlings out! Could you put them by the road with a sign "free to good home?" My dad was one to start seedlings inside in the early EARLY spring. AS my bedroom had the best light, I always shared my room with tomato, pepper, bean and lettuce seedlings.
