  1. Some of you know that Mr. WWM and I went on a mini-vacation last week to ride our bikes in the Texas Hill Country. I have some pictures and wanted those of you who aren't from Texas to get a glimpse at our beautiful state. We stayed in Fredricksburg at an adorable Bed and Breakfast that had two resident cats, Riley and A.C. Sadly, the instructions said not to let them in our cottage no matter how much they begged!

  2. Great pictures WWM, shaggy sheep and cows resting in green paddocks, so Texas isn't all brown and dusty then. I see you made friends too. Looks like you had a good but tiring time.

  3. Wow, what great photos WWM. I love the ones of the houses and of you and A.C. You and Mr. WWM look great!

  4. No, Texas isn't all brown and dusty!!! And I wanted proof for MCW that we do have sunshine in Texas!!!

The kitty A.C. is so sweet. He truly is nothing but skin and bones. I wish that his owners would take him to the vet, and I tried to diplomatically tell them that they need to do that. But A.C. has always been an outdoors kitty and they may not look at it the same way as we did. I fell in love with him. One morning he sat in my lap on the terrace for over an hour. He is a love.

  5. I love Fredricksburg. We stayed there on the way to San Antonio once. It had a German restuarant! The pictures are beautiful! I am glad you made a feline friend! Then again I am not suprised because you speak their language!

  6. Wiish I'd known you were so close, I'd have dropped in on your romantic interlude for some German food!

  7. What wonderful pictures. Looks lovely there in that part of Texas. Sheepishly admits I thought Texas was all brown and dusty. AC sure learned quickly that you were "Cat People" and came right to you. =^.^=

  9. WWM, how could she not? Texans keep reminding us on a regular basis... teehee... I live in LA, I have to poke at you a little!

Actually, I love the hill country in TX - have taken a couple of vacas there... So refreshing to be above sea level! Don't care much for the Dallas area tho...

  10. Dallas? Yuck! Too many people, too many cars! And yeah, we Texans can be pretty obnoxious!

  11. But we love you anyway!!!

  13. I'm as bad as MS and MC, the only thing I knew about Texas was from watching old westerns and the opening credits of Dallas...

It does look beautiful, WWM, I love the old house -- is it stone? -- in one of the early photos. And yes, sheep and cows and green grass -- you would feel right at home in New Zealand, we have those too :)

  17. JCAT, the house was made of Texas limestone. It's a beautiful creamy colored stone that is rough cut. In that part of Texas they build lots of houses using the stone and then they normally have tin roofs. Very pretty.

Karen, it is a rear view mirror! All bikers have them now, usually on the helmet but sometimes mounted on sunglasses. You have to be able to see the cars behind you just like in driving. I would be lost without my mirror!

2bp - you and Ron should get bikes!
