The NS kittehs have braved the weather for a final BBQ of the season. Steaks, chicken, sausage, burgers, hot dogs and ribs are all ready to be eaten. Fresh grilled veggies and salads are available. Baked potatoes, French Fries and Baked Beans are all on the buffet. We also have lots of pies and cakes for dessert. The fountains are tapped and flowing. Kittehs want to snuggle with you before bed. Come on in and relax!

Hi all!!
Staying up a bit late tonight. How are you feeling SM and MC??? I worry about you guys.
So the last couple of nights, Abbie just won't sleep...so tonight I tried my usual bag of tricks, feeding, changing, rocking, motrin, etc...nothing works like the last couple nights too. So I just made sure she was safe, since I know she's tired and I just let her cry it out...Is that bad? I know I have to break her of her getting used to me going in there, but I feel awful. I don't know what is wrong with her..she might be teething..she acts fine otherwise...just at night and sometimes like this in the middle of the night too.Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

CM, okay this is from a former pedi nurse. I know it hurts but let Abbie cry it out. You must get her on a good sleep-wake cycle. She IS testing you. You know that she's safe and okay and so you've got to suck it up for a few nights and let her cry.
I suggest ear plugs and a martini......

Oh thank god WWM..I was beside myself..she's finally quiet. She does have a nightlight MC..both girls use one. She cried for about 20 minutes then I went in there and checked on her, then gave her the motrin thinking her teeth are bothering her, and then gave her some milk....Finally, she's rubbing her eyes, so tired and as soon as I left the room, she started crying...she just cried for about 30 minutes...That is the worst!

Well that is one way--CM my husband looked at me and said if I went in daughter's room at that stage he would declare war! Try getting a mother lion away from a crying cub--he had the battle of a lifetime, but after 2-4 nights she did really well!
I saw the doctor today--same pain as I have been in the past month. They did a chest x-ray. I have pneumonia. Is it seriously possible I have had this undiagnosed for a month? Anyway I got the super shot of antibiotics and a perscription for more. He said I also have a double ear infection and an infection in my throat. Oh the joy of it all. He also said I need a specialist and a few scopes of some sort. Sounds like roto-rooting from my end!

Hi everyone! Life is busy, busy, busy (and oh goodness, I don't even have kids!). Hopefully I can catch up a bit more again soon. Dad is doing better, his WILL TO LIVE is incredible AND he told me tonight he WILL walk again! And I believe him! He is getting out of the hospital tomorrow and will be going to my sister's house (the sane one) and she is across the street from me, so I will be seeing a lot more of my daddy! Gonna feed him right, too. Well I'm off to bed. Going to take a nice cup of chamomile tea and some grilled fruit from the bbq and few snuggly-wugglies and get some shut eye. I love and miss you all! Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for me and my dad!

Soxsmom, chilly very chilly, yesterday we had tons of wind, today not so much just lots of cold...got down to freezing last night, and tonight supposed to be close too with a high of 59F or less tomorrow. And yes I love DVR, don't have to worry about missing any of my fav shows, just set it to record the series and wa la!

i had bbq baby back pork ribs for lunch, so i had chicken, green beans, a tomato, and an apple for dinner. pre-dinner snack was a glass of 2 percent milk.
chores are done for the night. i'm making a list of chores/things i need to buy/do tomorrow like meds and garbage bags and try to fax again. i am going to sign off soon to read in bed with my snuggly Spice on my tummy or by my side. it's very nice and she is very affectionate...

Good evening everyone! Just got home from a Halloween party - sweating like crazy as we had record high temps here today in the 80s - very unusual for October in New Orleans! Having grown up a Minnesota Twins fan, I wholeheartedly concur - GEAUX (GO for you non-Louisianians) PHILLIES!!!
AS far as the nightshift goes, I will have a filet, med rare, with a baked potato and roasted veg! And a double bloody mary!

Hi, KW! It was HOT! I came home and put on the A/C! Sticky humid too! But a front is supposed to pass thru tomorrow, so we shoudl be cool for the actual Halloween night festivities! Another party Sat too - multi-family block party! Lots of fun every year! And another excuse to get creative with the costuming! And I am going to see "Cats" with daughter during the day!
