  1. Hi family!

Whew... busy, busy, busy as many of you are. Just wanted to check in and say hello and tell you something special: my dad has DECIDED to LIVE. My sister overheard him on the phone with a neighbor today and was telling her: you know two weeks ago I was ready to throw in the towel, but I have too much to live for and I want to walk again.

My family, I KNOW your prayers are making the difference! I know, too, that if dad had passed, and when he does, that your prayers will help me through it.

So just wanted to again thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers and ask you to keep them up!

If you will, please add my brother, also named Glenn, to your prayers. He has chronic pancreatitis (sometimes moving to acute) and he is going to be tested for pancreatic cancer next week. My brother has completely turned his life around from a bad heroin addict that I had to get a restraining order against right before my mom died to a MAN who contributes to society and is taking EXCELLENT care of daddy. He goes to church and has a strong faith, but I get scared that something could set him back.

Okay, enuff of my asking for prayers today. I again want to thank you for your support and kindness, friendship, prayers and love.

I hope to get online this week. Don't know if we are ever going to be allowed online at work again and nights are just crazy busy for me, and weekends, too. Believe me, any free moment I have I'll be here!

My prayers to and for all here.

    Love,
    Lainey

  4. Lainey, we love you. We would never want to see any of your family lose their lives. The fact that your dad has decided to live shows the power of a miracle when we put a little of ourselves into it. As for your brother, addiction is a very powerful disease that he will have to fight vigilantly for the rest of his life, especially addiction to very strong drugs like street drugs or even potent medicines intended to help heal the body or relieve pain. Do you know if the pancreatitis was caused by his prior addiction, or could it be a mere medical abnormality? Either way, he will also have to watch his diet to make sure he has a good quality of life.

  5. Hi Vicki - I just left my brother and the pancreatitis is definitely a result of his past. He know and accepts that. He is having bloodwork tomorrow that the doctor said will show he needs further testing (gotta do what the insurance companies want). The doctor didn't sugar coat it and told him that if it is cancer, and he believes it is, that he needs to get his affairs in order. He is on methadone and is doing great on it. As long as he stays on that he doesn't crave or drive into Baltimore where he scored in the past. I told him to hang onto his faith and hang in there. I told him the crazy cat people would be praying and he looked at me like I have three heads, so I gotta 'splain that to him (my car was running I had to drop something off). I also printed a bunch of stuff off for him that I'll give him tomorrow, about eating healthy, etc. Thank you, Vicki and Amy and Teresa! Off to unpack groceries!
