   Hey there, I have two kittens about 7 weeks old http://www.flickr.com/photos/mricks/4065622613/ who I rescued and am taking care of until they are ready to be adopted out. They are active, eating and going to the bathroom regularly and well, and are friendly. However, whenever I am with them, they walk around me and cry a lot. This is after they have gone to the bathroom and eaten. They don't think of me as their mother; they don't come to me for comfort but do accept cuddling and petting well.

   They have a vet appointment in 2 days, but they do seem healthy (I have raised numerous other kittens in the past). I have just never had any kittens who would cry like this. I pick them up close to me and pet them when they do cry, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Any thoughts?

   Welcome Xeni to TDK...maybe if you give them some extra play time when they start to cry. A furry mouse on a string & drag it behind you so they can chase it? That usually does the trick with mine.
   I'd like to add that your furry bundles are just adorable as can be.

   I have a 5 week old kitten and when she cries and doesn't seem to want cuddling or food, I just play with her with a string for about 15 minutes and then she ends up tiring out so much she falls asleep. She typically just wants to play. The kittens would otherwise be with their mother so they're used to having constant attention. They also seem to have a lot of energy. Just tire them out by playing with a string or get them some toys to play with. I also got her a scratch post which she climbs up and that typically wears her out and then she doesn't meow and bother me as much after a day of play.

   Thanks for the advice! They do have toys and they tend to prefer wrestling and playing with each other rather than toys... I may try giving them some of the crocheted toys I made.
