   Well they took 3rd at Tournament of Bands--the very best they have ever placed! Hanks and Coronado from El Paso took 2nd and 1st. Coronado was over 4 points ahead of all of them in prelims--their piece this year was nothing short of outstanding. Daughter's section was hit hard this week. The section leader tore her ACL on Monday and is now on crutches recovering from surgery. The flutes took a similiar hit with their section the week before--same injury. Make you wonder how that is happening on the field. My kid has bronchitisis and is on antibiotics and steroids, but she marched the show of her life. I am in tears here because this was the last. She will never march again. Music maybe a part of her, but only concert season. In our school if you want to be in the symphonic band you have to march as well. College is a bit different. I will always miss these cold nights watching the kids.

   WWM Midland did a military tribute to WWII. It was good, their problem was they were so very quiet. Coronado was just amazing! They did a tribute to the Greek Muses. Very unique!
