  3. Good morning everyone! I've had a blissful four day weekend, now back to that ugly four letter word starting with W and ending with K. :-(

  4. Good morning! Had a nice halloween with Leela. Not many kids, though. It was a bit rainy, but the drizzly, windy, mild spooky weather, I was surprised kids weren't out all day! Oh well, my neighbors came over with their almost 2 year old dressed as Tinkerbell. She had fun playing with Leela.

  5. Morning ladies :)

Siobhan, believe me I know the feeling, 6 + hours in my w*** day.

Joan, how nice for Leela, she makes friends easily.

  6. Today sure was MOANDAY. First I spilled my bowl of cereal and milk on myself (had to change my pants), then got to work and was unable to print my reports, and coworkers removed magnets from the department frig that -I- had bought, without telling me, and THREW THEM AWAY. I'm a bit peeved. Can I start over again?

These were word magnets, you can play and build all sorts of sentences. We have two sets on our frig at home: the CATS set and the SHAKESPEARE set.

  7. We don't trick or treat anymore, we were getting 'kids' that were adults, and also the homeless folks. It was pretty sad... I felt so bad for the homeless adults, but Halloween is for children, not adults, and especially great big kids who make no attempt at costumes. I have the suspicion they're scouting homes for break-ins later :-( My neighborhood isn't the best anymore.

  8. Morning, all.

I'm all discombobulated today as I'm off work but we don't leave for CA until tomorrow. Puttering around doing crucially important things like washing the litterbox (ick). Will probably run the vacuum later so our catsitters can use the couch without ending up covered in orange fuzz :)

Joan, I'm glad Leela made a new friend on Halloween; Tinkerbell sounds cute.

ETA: Sio, that stinks about your word magnets. How incredibly rude of your coworkers.

  9. Morning all!
((Siobhan)) One of those days. That's pretty rotten that your magnets got thrown away. i am sorry.
Now with the time change, the girls are up earlier since the sun comes into the house earlier...so I have been busy. Just finishing up breakfast now and will go and put a corned beef in the crock pot for dinner...

  10. Siobhan, maybe your co-workers didn't know how to spell so they didn't know you could make diff words.....actually that stinks pretty much about their actions.

  11. A late good morning to all! I had lots of emails this morning and had to check other things for work since it's the first workday of the month. I'll try to get back and keep up with things here a little later. Have a good day, everyone! (Sounds like a few need a better start to their day.) {{hugs}}

  12. This was Leela's first official halloween. Last year we were moving back into our barely shell of a house where life was awful for a long time. This year was a lot less scary and much more fun!

  14. Joan, I'm curious; would you say now that all the upheaval with your house was worth it? I felt like our one bathroom remodel, which was nothing like your job, was a big enough pain but I'm sure glad we did it.

Posted 2 weeks ago by Kilroy #

  15. Soups on and Tuxie kit is ready to go...thanks Azdebra! Mellow Monday Morning
Greetings from M'waukee to all! Hope the day progresses on a more positive note for those in need with a great start to the work week too! I'll grab my large black java with smoochies for the little black kit handing out mini muffins...I'll have a poppyseed/lemon one on the way out!

  16. Greetings back atcha, Jeankit! I guess the upheaval was worth it, although we're still fixing things and discovering problems. The contractor put on a good selling front, and started out great, but lost their ambition and care (and got another job). I know we won't ever do it again! Leela, being a baby at the time, was our ultimate de-stressor and our distraction.

  17. Finally done paying the majority of the bills, fed the crew, even gave seed to the birds outside, so now its time for me to see about getting some zzzz's....at least 3-4 hrs would be nice. Hope everyone has a wonderful day :)

Posted 2 weeks ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  18. Azdeb, Aren't birds great...peep peep...even in the dead of winter! I too feed the birds every A.M.!!

  19. Good afternoon, all! I really liked the time change this morning - it felt like I was sleeping in!
I've got nothing much going on today. Got home from GG's this morning to a leaking toilet though. Arrrgh! Landlord is coming to fix it later. Don't feel like having him here when I'm home but don't want him to come when I'm out, either.
I can't believe it's November already - almost Thanksgiving! It's almost time to start thinking of getting pictures of the boys in their Santa hats.

Posted 2 weeks ago by GreatDane #

  20. yea!!! Santa hats for Bobby and Mi! That is one of the best parts of Christmas :)

Posted 2 weeks ago by cricketsmama #

  21. For me, too, CM! I always have a good time trying to get those pics!
I'll probably take Bobby to meet Santa again this year since he did so well last year.
How was your Halloween? Bet the girls had a blast!

Posted 2 weeks ago by GreatDane #

  22. Hey everyone! This darned time change has me hungry so I think I may have to go early and get a big juicy burger from somewhere! I have a bunch of errands to run too that will take me past an old fashioned drug store that has a soda fountain and grill that has the BEST burgers in town. Nice and juicy, made to order and hot off the grill. Nice fat crispy fries too!

    Posted 2 weeks ago by KYKAT 12 23 #

  23. Wait, KYK - I'll come with you! I don't suppose they make a good root-beer float, do they? Perfect topper to the burger (with cheese) and crispy fries!

Posted 2 weeks ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  24. Oooh sounds good KYkat - I'd like to come, too!
Landlord just came by and is fixing the toilet. He mentioned how hot it is in here so now he's talking about fixing the a/c too - that would be great. Now if only he could take care of the bugs!

  25. Hello everybody! FINALLY feeling better, have been up all day and awake most of it. Have eaten, and have managed to do some work without my screen causing a headache. Am heading back to work tomorrow, doing a short 6 hour day to break myself in gently. The flu has left the building!!

On another note, I'm afraid Harry's still a bit poorly and off his food, so we're about to take him back to the vets.

Posted 2 weeks ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  26. So glad you're feeling better, MCW! Could Harry still be having adjustment issues?

    {{{Harry}}} Feel better soon, sweetie.

Posted 2 weeks ago by Kilroy #

  27. Glad you're feeling better, MCW! Sorry Harry's not well. Any idea what's wrong with him?

Posted 2 weeks ago by GreatDane #

  28. Thanks Kilroy. Harry's officially poorly, when Chris took him to the vetsd on Saturday he was running a temperature. The shots they gave him thern perked him up for the rest of the day, but he went back to being listless and off his food yesterday. His breathing was raspy too, but the emergency vet said not to worry too much unless he started struggling to breathe, wehich he wasn't. They gave Chris tonight's follow up appt if he wasn't better, so off we go :o)

Posted 2 weeks ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  29. Glad you're feeling better MCW; hope Harry is feeling better soon too.

Posted 2 weeks ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  30. Poor Harry :(

Landlord promised to spray here on Wednesday. Now I have to see if I can take to boys to XBF's for the day. If not, maybe they can go to Auntie Ellen's. They'll be upset either way.
