Back from the vets - Harry's on a course of antibiotics & inflammatories, and is booked in for a chest x-ray and heart scan on Friday, they've picked up a heart murmur they've not noticed before and want to investigate. I feel the need for an insurance claim form!!!

{{{Harry}}} Shaddo and Jiggs had heart murmurs for as long as I can remember; didn't slow 'em down one bit!

Hugs for Harry! Someone earlier mentioned root beer floats. That would sure hit the spot this afternoon.

I am back from the soda fountain and grill and back from a flying trip home to meet the plumbers...again. The burger and fries were glorious! I opted for tea rather than a float.
The plumbers came to fix a leak that fixing the leak caused. If I ever find out who built this house, I am going to kick them in the shins for using such cheap materials, doing a half-a$$ed job, using used appliances and gteneral stupidity in design when it came to access to the pipes in the master bath. Basically to properly fix the leak we are going to have to gut the bathroom to get to the pipes. They at least sent a better plumber this time and I am going to ask for James for any future problems.

Woke up after a 2 hr nap, yay at least it was 2 hrs straight! Now to find the energy to do something constructive. Did read a good article, have to convince my brain to comply but it is a good common sense article... http://health.yahoo.com/experts/drmao/20270/what-soft-drinks-are-doing-to-your-body/
KYKat, if you need help thumping the plumber who caused these problems, count me in!
Harry my boy, my Haje has a heart murmur too, hasn't slowed him down at all, even @ 12 yrs old.

I don't smoke (and never have), I rarely drink. I don't do drugs (and never have). I average 3 of the 5 recommended fruit/veg portions a day. I need a vice, and mine is caffeine, in the form of Pepsi Max. I think things could be a lot worse!!!

Sitting here reading the November issue of Reader's Digest and there is a disturbing article on 9-1-1 operators/calls, I spent many years doing this and how scary. We always sent out officers to at least do a welfare check, no matter how many times someone called. The long call from Ms. Kowalski makes it sound like the police department is going to do something and supposedly the call center didn't really pass it on to the officers searching for the kidnapped woman :(

Did I ever mention that I hate Comcast? Grrrr!
I didn't pay my bill and instead of just shutting off the cable like they usually do, they came to the house to disconnect the whole thing and pick up the box. They've been there 3 times but always at night when I'm at work. Tonight the guy calls me and is pretty testy. I told him I work at night and also told him I don't want the thing disconnected, and that I'm paying the bill next week when I get paid.
He asks me when I'll be home tonight and I told him 9:30. He then asks me where I work and tell me he lives down in this area and he can stop bby to pick up a check that he'll put through on Tuesday when I get paid. I told him I don't have a check on me and he gets all annoyed. What the heck kind of way of working is this anyway? Isn't that weird that Comcast would send a guy to your house at that late hour and have him come collect a check from you at 9:30 at night?
He started telling me how they'll charge the cable box to my account and charge me a $150 re-connection fee now!
What the heck is wrong with them??? Now when I get paid, there's no way I'm going back with them! Idiots! Grrrr!!!! -
wow, what a day?! this is the first time I have gotten to slow down and chat. Amazing how busy we got over the weekend. I am bushed!

MCW...Re: Harry's heart murmur, to add to the posts above. I have a 14 year old orange boy, that was diagnosed with one 2 yrs ago. Well, besides that he is FIV positive, and blind in one eye, one would never know there were health issues. He is active, eats well, and is enjoying life. I did hear the whooshing sound from the stethoscope, at that time when it was discovered. It was quite disturbing. The vet did not seem to be overly concerned, and did not recommend any additional tests, etc. As several have said, a murmur has not interfered with their kitty's lifestyle. Hopefully the same with Harry.
