Well folks, I managed to get sick. That little session last month was just a preview. Started feeling odd on Sunday before. By Monday afternoon I knew that I was getting something. Tuesday officially sick. Another high fever and felt like someone was sitting on my chest. I also had an odd cough. Told my sister on Wed that I was not well and my thoughts kept drifting to WWM comment of "Take care of yourself". By Thurs morning my sister told me to "get my backside" to the doctor (WWM still in my thoughts) Here is the diagnosis, infectious bronchitis and pneumonia. Yikes! I talked them out of admitting me to the hospital and promised to do everything they told me to. This is awful! I am taking lots of meds and lots of breathing treatments. I continue to improve. I did go back to work today but only lasted until noon. Not moving enough air and got dizzy. So I'm back at home with the kitties. The kits are loving having me here. Today was pretty bad, flat tire on the way to work, on top of everything else. So I am progressing, have a good attitude and am ready to not be sick. I want everyone to know that you must NOT ignore being sick. People have died in Dallas from this strain of pneumonia! No excuses, go get checked out. Thanks, WWM, I did listen and am on the road to recovery. A few TDK prayers would be most welcomed at this point.

Oh, Puddytat - I'm so sorry! You have really been through it and you must now follow all orders and concentrate on getting well.
First of all - NO WORK FOR NOW!!!! For one thing, you feel like road kill and so won't be productive at work anyway; and secondly there's that little word "infectious" in your diagnosis. Your co-workers will sincerely thank you if you do not show up at work and expose all of them.
You need to stay in bed with the kitties, take your med's and breathing treatments as ordered, drink lots and lots of warm liquids and just rest.
And if you don't do all of that, I'm donning my nurses cap, flying on my broom to College Station and telling your doctor that you need to be admitted to the hospital so that they can force you to get well!
In the meantime, I send lots of hugs and a virtual pot of chicken and dumplings.

I was just diagnosed with pneumonia last week PT and after a week on antibiotics I still feel like crap. My doctor said no reason not to work as I didn't have a temp. It was 99.8 in his office. I have been working and I went to daughter's competition on Saturday and sat outside all day and night. I am now sicker than a dog and with the school under a microscope I am sure not calling in. I say if you can stay home, medicate, and get someone else to take care of you!
