  1. I just read this and thought it was interesting. What movies do you watch again and again? Whether you own them or they show up on TV?
For me, Young Frankenstein, Princess Bride, Wizard of Oz, both Kill Bills. If I'm changing channels and they come on, I always end up watching again.

  6. Snap, KK -- Truly, Madly, Deeply! It's the only film I had to buy a video of. Anything with Cary Grant or Humphrey Bogart, especially 'His Girl Friday'. Brief Encounter. Any of the old classics, especially Noel Coward, Alfred Hitchcock or film noir. Anything with Audrey Hepburn... Recently I had a jag on Constantine, with Keanu Reeves (I know, sorry...)

And (sorry but I have to lower the tone here, I know it's telly but...) all 7 series of Buffy and all TV adaptations of Jane Eyre and Bleak House and Our Mutual Friend...

  7. Wizard of Oz--last year my daughter bought me a new version and won the solo at all district playing "If I Only Had a Brain." It was one of the most perfect birthday presents ever! I also love Clue and Murder By Death--I love a good comedy!

Feral I have stayed in The Grand Hotel several times. It is where they filmed Time After Time. I have to say I have see that movie a few times too.

  12. my absolute favorite is Goldfinger (Sean Connery as James Bond)

  13. The James Bond films (yes, I'll even sit through the ones where Timothy Dalton played Bond, even though those two sucked; I haven't had a chance to see the most recent ones yet with Daniel Craig as Bond), The Fifth Element, Amadeus, and Friday are my current faves.

  14. Roger Moore was always The Saint as far as I was concerned--hard to see him as Bond. But I own all the Sean Connery, Roger Moore, and George Lazenby Bond movies.

  17. what about the pierce brosnan james bonds ???

Posted 2 weeks ago by Cheri 12/22 #

  18. My favorite James Bond is the one with George Lazenby--best Bond ever--then again he got married in that one to Diana Rigg! See a theme here? I am not a big Pierce Brosnan fan. The newer Bonds are just not the same.

  19. WOW...SM...what a treat to have stayed at the Grand! It had the look of fantasy to it. Absolutely beautiful view from it as well.

Jcat...I have to agree w/you on Buffy. I was always glued to the set every week! I do get my replacement fix thru Supernatural.

  25. SM, did you know that there was originally no gazebo at the Grand Hotel? It was built as part of the set for the movie. After the movie came out, people kept looking for it and asking about it, so they ended up putting one in. It's also interesting to note that they had to ask special permission for the scene where Mr. Reeves drives his car up to the hotel entrance. The Grand Hotel is on Mackinac Island, where no cars are allowed. I've never actually stayed at the hotel, although when we were there this last June we did pay to go inside and then just sacked out on the big front porch for the afternoon.

I love the old classic movies. I'm also a huge Young Frankenstein fan (or is that Frahn-ken-steen?)

  26. NNGM, it's Frahn-ken-steen! And would you like a little Ovaltine, perhaps?

  28. It is a little scary when you can pretty much quote a movie's dialogue. One of Nibs' nicknames (when she is being a Wild Thing) is Abby Normal.

  29. The Two Worlds of Jennie Logan and of course Milo and Otis. Another recent discovery for me is National Treasure and National Treasure 2. I bought both movies last spring and have watched them probably a dozen times each.
