Since there really isn't a "discussion guide" for the book I'll just pick a few things out and go with them. If you think of any additional please add them.
1. Could you picture any animal you have present or past stepping in like Mrs Murphy or Tee Tucker? Could you picture them having the conversations those two do...much less with the others they encounter?
Yes I can picture all of them doing so. I know that mine converse with each other--more so in body language than in meows when the cats talk to each other. I know when they are talking about me from the way they look at me. LOL

I am not really in the Book Club, but I have read all of Rita Mae Brown's Mrs. Murphy books. I love them! And yes, I definitely can imagine the cats having conversations. I think they do it all the time!

I think my babies are always trying to get me to check something out but there are times I think all they are trying to get is an "I made you look" credit...lol
I know my 6 talk to each other all the time it just isn't out load...none of the five kittens meow anymore...
Leela doesn't have a sib to talk to, but she talks to herself when she goes into a room where she's alone.
Shaddo and Jiggs loved me, but I wondered if they spent their lives plotting my demise! They communicated with each other often, as CTR mentioned, mostly in body language.
