A friend e-mailed me about this site and, HERE I AM!! I am mother to five of the most wonderful little fur people: Orfeyo, aka Feyo, all black medium-haired female age 11, stray; Lord Ik Ik, aka, Iky Tiky Tavy, all white male short-hair, age 10, pound pussy; Road Kill, aka RK, tortoise shell short-hair female, age unknown as she was dropped off one winter about 8 years ago; Neko de Chi-Ninja, aka Neko Ninja, Sealpoint Siamese male, age 5 and my retirement present to myself; and last buy not least, Akemi, aka Kemi (as in Keep Me) male mackeral tabby stray who is about 5 years old. If I had room for more litter boxes, I'd have more cats!!

I have pictures of all my furballs except Kemi. Guess I'll have to get some film for the camera. Better yet . . . a new camera! Feyo, Neko, RK, Ik Ik, Kemi and I live near Woodland, Michigan. All of my current menagerie are named after characters in books. Other cat names I have used are Oberon (Siamese), Snicklefritz (Siamese), Tichauka (Chauka for short; adopted from pound), Bleys (pronounced Blaze who is probably my all time favorite seal point Siamese), Suki (long-hair gray female), Magi (seal point female), two different Sams (one black male and the second was Siamese chocolate point female), Bruce T. Butterscotch (orange marmalade tabby; named after a high school teacher and usually called "T"), Tiki (seal point female)and Beauty who was my first black cat. I'll try and post pictures of my kids on Catster one of these days if I can figure out how to do it or find someone who is computer literate to do it for me. Meanwhile, to all cat lovers, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Hi, Williamsweyr! Welcome to TDK. I'm curious about your screen name. I googled "weyr" and saw that it is the name of a group of dragons and their riders. Are you an Anne McCaffery fan? :-)

I'm having a nice day so far. I am feeling under the weather but have no obvious symptoms. Just a case of the "blahs" I guess. :-) I'm feeling cheery though. I always smile when I visit TDK. How are you?

Since I don't know to contact individual members (feel free to tell me how to do it). . . here are some answers: Yes, I like Anne McCaffrey's dragonrider series. I live in a semi-earth-bermed home and thus the name Williamsweyr (cave) is the name of my house. "A cat, a book, life is good." To questions of location, the town I live near is about half way between Grand Rapids and Lansing.
I enjoy reading the comments on cats as I never met a cat I didn't love.

I figured the name had to have something to do with PERN. Has anyone been reading the new Todd books? I just finished the newest one. Welcome, Williamsweyr.
