I must say something must be right in the heavens above. Or my TDK family has worked another miracle. If so, I need to contact the vatican for an investigation. I got to work this morning to find an email in my box from my boss about my surgery. I almost got sick to click on it. I did anyways. She told me to forget about work and get my surgery done. She also said that they are trying their hardest to figure out a way that I can get paid while I am off. I am out of vacation time, short term disability doesn't kick in until day 8 and is only 66% of my wage. I almost cried with happiness. Oh Joy! One less worry! Now about my sister coming to my house with a bleach bottle to clean next weekend, that is another story! AARGH!

That's wonderful! Wow a boss that is human and is trying to do the best for you, that is really great.

MC, don't forget to tell your boss - preferably in person - how much you appreciate her efforts. How much you hope they're able to find some way to help you out. (I know some employers that allow employees to 'donate' vacation time or sick leave for another employee who needs it.)
In the meantime, hang in there... you need all your strength and energy to prepare for surgery and recovery. You can beat this!

That is amazing. Nice boss to take that burden of worry off of your shoulders. As for your sister. Her wanting to be there and help shows that she loves you and wants to do her part for you to have as healthy a recovery as possible. That is one of my definitions of true love and friendship. If someone will come over and clean your house, they love you.

Can we clone your boss and distribute the clones to every workplace in the world? As for your sister, it's her job to fuss over you; that's what big sisters do. If she didn't fuss over you in your time of need she wouldn't be doing her job. Yay! the company has set up a program where people can donate vacation time to me so that I don't go without pay. Right now I am up to 85 hours! Wow! Its amazing that people I don't even know would do that for me! People in Seattle, Portland, Utah, Idaho. People I have never met or probably ever will meet. I don't know how I will ever repay them. Oh my, I am just blown away at the generosity!

Answered prayers--thanks be to God! MC you have much prayer and support that will see you through this trial. Can your co-workers donate their time to you? The school has a bank of donated time off. I give 2 days every year, and those days are for whoever is in need due to illness or tragedy.
