   There are some dummies with a Masters' degree working in these departments. One place I worked, she called me over to her desk about a new employee and had his green card in her hand. I looked at it and told her it was definitely a fake ID. She asked why. I pointed out his birthday was listed as 2/31. She still didn't get it!

   taoday, i talked extensively with the union, the human resources director's assistant, and my boss.

   1. union is aware of everything i have been going thru with HR. i found out who the HR director's boss is and it is the regional director of the nysdot region. he is local and a fine upstanding person. if i have flak with HR director, I can go to him, but i must wait until Nov. 23 to allow HR director to get back to me.

   2. HR director's assistant is also very nice and was unaware of what HR director is doing, but will help me all he can. he had some answers for me today, and i will call him in a couple of days for the rest.

   3. talk with boss about work. my desk has not been touched. i need him to get permission to get to internal work server to get bulletins. these bulletins are easy to get to from a work computer, not so from my home computer. HR director had thrown a wrench into the process. she has forbidden her staff to email these bulletins directly to me. the ones i want to see are how to fill out forms correctly and sick leave policy. and they are forbidden to send them to me ???? if didn't know better, i would think she is sabotaging my sick leave status. she is not forthcoming with help, it's like pulling teeth.

   so, i hope to have more information soon. tomorrow i go to my doctor who authorized my return to work to tell him that the NYS Albany doctors overruled him. i will plan strategy with hime to help me get back to work.

   Sounds like you are on the right path and are getting assistance from HR now that the Union has been notified. With any luck you will be back to work soon. Now work on getting healthy and staying healthy.
