   My Mom, who is 93, went to the hospital last night with a bowel obstruction. This is the 6th time this year. This episode was very painful-they gave her a shot of morphine that only helped for about 20 minutes. Then they couldn't give her any more, and the pain was so bad she was vomiting for several hours. She has gotten very frail over the last 6 months and I am so worried about her. Please keep her in your prayers, if you will. Thanks, littermates.

    Just an update: My Mom will probably be home either today or tomorrow. The doc just called and said that they would give her some food and wait a bit to make sure she would have no pain, and if it went well she could go home. They tried yesterday, but she did have a pain episode after breakfast, so they kept her another day. They are recommending thaat if she gets another episode to have her take a laxative before coming into the hospital and see if it will resolve and save her a hospital trip. She does have memory problems, so I think she just forgot to try that this time. I'm thinking that I could make a sign to put on her fridge to remind her? Any other suggestions? Thanks so much for the prayers, TDK family! As usual, your prayers are powerful and they worked!

    Prayers for your mom and you and Victor as well...no suggestions for helping her to remember..unless she has a regular caretaker that could remind her. I never got to this point with either of my parents so I have no experience.
