Hi I am Debbie and I got my kitten from a barn not far from my home she was only 2 and half old her mother had been ran over so I took 1 kitten in I live in the country and bottle feed her and raised her she had when I got her Coccidiosis and 3 type of worms and then she had a bladder infection She is now a stay in the house kitten she is not a Outside...Now she is healthy and doing good and she is 12 weeks old ....Shoted and doing good..
the question I have here is there was 2 very small kittens in a old barn house next to us so I brought them in and took them to the vet to be checked they are ok I am only keeping one of them but my 12 kitten is mothing one of them she is cleaning it and was trying to carry it around is this normal for a kitten only 12 weeks old ? thank you for any advise her about this ...and another question here the 12 old kitten her name is Charlotte she is still sucking on me I can not get her to stop my ears are hurting so bad any advise on this sucking she does ......I have tried bitter apple still sucking tryed pushing her away I wake up to her laying on me sucking LOL! Help

Welcome to TDK. Not sure I have any great advice, but I can say we have another member whose kitten--well he really is a big boy now--sucks on a blanket. It is probably a security issue. Don't let her near your ears and replace with something better. Good luck and welcome.

My two boys, Tiigger and Sam, are now 7 months old, and still settle down in their basket every night and suck on their blankie. They used to suck on me, which hurt, and ruined my clothes, so I got them their blankie instead, and they love it. Problem solved. As for your older kitten mothering the younger one, I've seen stranger things happen. If anything it will bond them closer to each other. What is going to happen to the other little kitten?

Hi I am going to try to get Charlotte to suck on a blanket I hope and I am keeping both kittens as well so now we have 3 babies ? No one wanted another pet right now so me and my husband are keeping both kittens we named them Syvester and Shadow they are black and have a tiny bit of white on their neck and thank you so much for the advise and I know what you mean about you hurting from the sucking my ears hurt so bad and Charlotte is mothing both kittens it is so funny she holds them down and cleanes them she will be getting fixed so now she can still be a foster mommy so her new brothers LOL!I will posting pic's of them all Charlotte is gray and white she is beautiful I love the new babies so much already and my husband has his own baby now LOL! one sleeps on his pillow and one beside me and Charlotte sleeps on me as close to my ear as she can get LOL

Hey Debbie! I got Sam & Tiigger a polar fleece blankie, and I carried it around with me for a few days, slept with it at night (so that it can smell like me) and kept it on my lap all the time - especially when one of them was trying to suckle on my clothes, I jus diverted their attention to the blankie instead. Hope it helps you as well. I'm looking out for a winnie the pooh themed blankie now, to go with Tiigger's tigger-like personality :)

Maybe you ought to treat it like little baby when it time quit a pacifier, put something on your ear that will taste bad to your cat and I don't think getting a fleece blanket is a good idea, some cats will eat the fleece and give them bowel problems but not all cats will eat fleece. I went online and it said there was something missing in their diet that made them eat the fleece. I bought my honey a fleece bed and she would eat the fleece so I threw it away. Her name is baby and my second honeys name is Scarlet.
