There is also a link on Wikipedia's main page: http://en.wikipedia.org . You may need to scroll down a bit, but you will notice quickly the, um, 'spicy' name of the Austrian town.

  4. SoxsMom, it's 21 miles (33 kilometers) north of Salzburg and less than three miles from the Austria/Germany border.

  8. I lived in Germany--about 2 hours outside Munich. I spent as much time as possible in Salzburg because I loved the city. Don't ever remember seeing that one though.

  9. SoxsMom, maybe someone kept stealing the signs while you lived in Germany and chilled in Salzburg.

  10. We have some funny place names around here. Then we have half a dozen towns that have brant or brad in them so it can be confusing cause people will say one when they mean another. :)

  11. I can think of two places in Pennsylvania - Intercourse and Naughty Girl Meadow. and here in New York in out NYSDOT region is Old Maids Hole - a pond that was once frequented by spinster female schoolteachers.

  13. I grew up in Michigan. Went to school in Climax and played ball against the Intercourse Trojans. You have not idea the snickers when we were Freshman--by Senior year it was old.

  15. I was in Intercourse,Pa, 2 years ago,(passing through to another destination). It is a really neat town. Very quaint and very Amish. I sat on a bench eating a freshly baked pretzel, with an Amish gentleman next to me. And I did buy many post cards to send to family and friends...just because of the "unusual" town's name.
