  1. Just saw this thread Liz. Sending all the positive energy I can engender. Stay away from the birds, stick with the cats. And leave the lifting to others who are stronger - preferably male.

  2. So glad you are home and feeling better, SM. Now REST, woman!

Eek, if daughter has a phobia about birds, she might not want to come over here. Birds and lizards and wetas are all we have in the way of wildlife. Beautiful big (lamb-sized) gambolling birds with no wings and peacock blue irridescent feathers. Parrots that unzip your cases and steal your lunch (they LOVE cheese). Songbirds that warble liquid notes and then mimic your telephone ringing and the dog barking. She might be okay if she can manage to stay away from wildlife sanctuaries ;-)

  3. She got acosted in a train at a zoo. The ostrich climbed in the train and tried to take her buttons off her coat. It was a bit traumatizing for her. I had a deer climb in my cart and get stuck. The animals had been fed by humans so often they had no fear at all.

  4. Ooh, that would be scary. Ostriches are BIG! No wonder she is nervous around them.

  5. I've been away SM and have only just found this thread. I hope you get better really quickly. Remember to do what the Drs tell you otherwise we'll have to send for WWM.

  6. Ostriches are not so much birds as they are feathered postmodern dinosaurs; no wonder your daughter got scared skinless. As for KittyMom's suggestion about the cornish game hens, you could roast about 100 of them and use them as a garland for a Christmas tree... ;)

  8. It was a strangulated femoral hernia. Had to cut a hole in my tendon in my thigh, then put the stuff back where it belongs, then sewed the tendon hole. Then I have an incision across my stomach where the mesh was put in. I was then stapled shut. I feel like I have been xeroxed, collated, and stapled just like a brief!

  19. Thank you all. Today has been good and bad. The pain meds have worn off from this morning, and I am really trying to not use them. I have taken a nap after a walk. I am still tired and very sore. I'll be okay, but I sure hope that the pain goes away!

  22. Sm, you sound like the next best seller on the shelf, collated and stapled with a bright shiny cover good to go!! Just kidding, glad you are home and recouperating and doing ok. I am sorry the pain meds are not holding but good to see you trying to move, just make sure you rest. You seem to be on the road to recovery and doing well, I am happy for that. Thanks for checking in on me. Have a good night, leave the dog food for another time, no need to lift anything, relax and get well. Love mama Lynn

  24. I went to the surgeon this morning. I have been put down so to speak. He is stated in my work release I can't go back until December 14th because he will not let me lift until them! Like chalk weighs 50 pounds!

  25. Sorry to hear you'll be down that long ! Do your best to make the most of it. And certainly enjoy it while you can !

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  26. Oh, dear. That is frustrating. How much lifting does your job require?

Posted 2 years ago by Leeny #

  27. Hmmm, maybe he just wants to be safe rather than sorry. Regardless, sending "Hang in There" hugs to you!
