You know those stories you often hear about a mommy cat who was kind enough to take on an orphaned kitten as part of her own litter? Sky has now adopted Stumpie. Stumpie is almost 5 months old, but very tiny for his age. I hand reared him from age 2 weeks; at that time, Sky wanted absolutely nothing to do with him. Much hissing and growling, and a puzzled expression - 'surely that can't be MY baby??', and then at age 7 weeks Stumpie went to the shelter to find a home. A few months later, he's back with us :) And now Sky absolutely loves him! He tries to nurse from her, and she lets him. She grooms him all the time, she watches him like a hawk and attacks the other cats who are mean to him. She follows him everywhere. And off course he's happy as a pig in mud - he always wanted a mommy. Life is sometimes strange and wonderful all at the same time?

Sky missed Stumpie and has now accepted him as her own. How wonderful for both of them!
