I witnessed a Miracle this morning. Some may remember I've had to keep Winnie & Lacy closed in my room. Lacy (Hannah's sis) was traumatized by her owner as a kitten & basically locked herself in my room on her own. She's hid out there since. I've been opening my door in the a.m. to let Winnie roam because her zooming antics are driving me insane,to say the least. Hannah & my Binky have the run of the house (they're the only 2 that get along). I have to watch Winnie & Hannah constantly cuz they hate each other w/a passion & Winnie (the clawless & fearless)...she's just a stalking little b***h & always has been.
My beautiful Floofball Lacy saw me thru the doorway to the other side of the house & for the 1st time in literally yrs. came all the way thru the house to greet me on the sofa. I almost hyperventilated from excitement! When I stood up,she playfully hopscotched back to her hidey-hole...but a miracle in itself she was out at all.
Half-hour later,I was busy doing other things & I heard a cat fight. I knew immediately it was Hannah & Winnie (the she-b****es). When I got to the area they had been fighting, both were gone. I found Winnie(Thanks to Binky's sharp eye)cowering down hiding. Winnie now has an injury on her back leg that's preventing her from walking on it. I'd like to say to her...serves her right w/her stalking every cat she sees...but I'd have no enjoyment from it because there will be no vet trip w/no money. So now, her getting let out of there to release all her energies was short-lived.
I had such high hopes that I would finally be allowed to let those 2 roam & not have to worry about fights. Short-lived. I've tried everything to make those 2 get along & nothing works. But...I still have my miracle having Lacy come out of her hidey-hole like she did. :)

That's too bad about Winnie. She seems to be overly agressive. If you can keep the wound disinfected and clean, it might do well on its own. But if she not walking on it instead of just favoring it, it might be something more serious. This might very well stop her from stalking Hannah.
Good for Lacy becoming a little braver. Praise her and give her attention when she does.Posted 4 months ago by LadyKat of IA #

Hahaha...catitude is soooo mild for her...& she'll never learn her lesson. As for Lacy...very few people know I have her because of her hiding. And it's a shame...she's such a beauty w/the greenest eyes I've ever seen on a cat...not exactly. Her Sis Hannah & her mama Selena both have green eyes as well & they're Siamese all the way.
BTW...Lacy is the same one I had the poopy bottom problem with because her fur is so long. I had to practically lay on top of her to trim her fur away. hahaha -
My friend had a cat who spent most of his life in the basement. The cat had plenty of room and ramps up to a little hidey hole box. She gave the cat attention whenever she could, but she also had a dog and they never did get along. The cat was quite content to live his life in the basement.

You must feel like an air traffic controller when you move your various inside kits around, Susie. I'm so happy that Lacy found the courage to greet you. What a gift!

Way to go Lacy!!! That's so great! Hahaha...how old is Lacy? Could she be developing kitty alzheimers? Maybe she forgot she was afraid? Just kidding...I'd love to think she'll give it another try in the future. Sorry that Winnie and Hannah don't get along better. You'd think after a while they'd get tired of battling one another. Oh well...One miracle at a time! =)

Thanks for all the nice words you guys!!
Karen...Lacy & Hannah are going on 12 yrs.old. They were rescued w/their 2 brothers from next door after their mama Selena was abandoned there pregnant. The homeowner's son w/his wife & their son barracaded themselves in the house after a 4-day drug binge. I'd been caring for Selena & her babies for about 1 month b4 they showed up. After police were called, the jerk threw Lacy out an open window. I found her about 4 hrs. later under a bush shivering & shaking from fear. After the cops escorted the freaks out of the park, I went in the try & find the other 3. One of the boys was found face down inside a plastic pitcher. Any longer & he wouldn't have made it. I gathered the four of them & brought them home to be cared for. Lacy has never been the same since but,she is extremely attached to me & the underside of my bed (noone can reach her there). There mama still lives a few doors down in the park here. So anytime she comes out of the room is cause for excitement. :) -
Skyron...not under the bed all the time. hahaha. She loves & pretty much owns the window & sill in there. I can count on one hand how many times in the last 2 yrs. she's exited the room far enuf to see where I'm at (that's when I'm on the puter in the adjacent room). I deliberately have chose not to force her out of there because when I would, she would retreat & wouldn't come out from under there for a week at a time, even to eat. The less pressure has worked the best. That's why I say for her to go thru 2 rooms to get to me for pettings...is nothing short of a miracle. :)
And she even had that look in her eyes of...look what I did mama...I came out all by myself. :) -
Awww, good for Lacy! She may end up being like my RT. For most of her life, no one ever saw her except me - she would always hide. But when she got older (I think she was about 12) she suddenly seemed to decide that she had enough of hiding whenever someone came over. I think the first time she came calmly walking out when there were people over, my jaw hit the floor. They do like to surprise us, I think.

Thanks Linda. You know the old saying...you can bring a horse to water but, you can't make 2 cats like each other if they don't want to. :)
Karen...An ad was put in the paper for free kittens & A woman & her daughter(about 10 yrs.old) came over to look at them. They originally were going to take only one but, the daughter begged w/her pretty blue eyes to take them both so they could be buddies. They now live in the next town over.
NNGM...That's the way I reacted. I gasped when I saw her. She even sniffed around the room like she was enjoying herself. :)
