   Okay, I first must say I am sorry but I do need to let this out before I melt down.

   My mom had exploratory surgery today and things are not good. What was thought to be stage 2 lung cancer and most likely operable is now stage 4 and has spread to her aorta. I am in shock at this time because she is in Arizona and I am in South Dakota...I think I will be flying out this weekend just to be there if nothing else. She did not know yet when my brother called to tell me... I don't know anything about cancer but i truly think that sounds bad...I hold out hope but not real sure what the next step will be.

   Thank you for listening and being there...it is looking more and more like it might be Easter Cards rather than Christmas...

   Alicia...I'm so sorry about the news of your mom. My Family went thru something very similar w/our mom. Going by x-rays & all, they thought they would be able to do surgery & that would be the extent. After going in they found it more advanced than they thought. I also cannot advise you but would like to pass on my HUGS & Prayers & hope you & your Mom can have some quality time w/each other when you travel to see her. {{{ALICIA"S MOM}}} {{{ALICIA}}}

    Okay, it is official...Thanksgiving with Mom...leaving Karma's Daddy to take care of the little ones (and scoop the poop)...lol Okay, I can find humor in that. I fly out Saturday and will be back the following Saturday...

    Alicia you are doing what is best for you and your Mom by going to her now. I wish I could give wonderful words that could ease your worried mind. I don't know any. I do know you will feel better when you are with your Mom. May you have a safe and uneventful flight and get to spend a good time with your Mom.     Lots of prayers Alicia, my dad lived with cancer for 6+ years....its a waiting game at this point...just hope for the best and love love love love each day you guys heave together..but my heart tells me you guys will have many many years to come together =)

    Thank you all for the kind words. I am nervous and excited and obviously sad. This will be the the first holiday with Mom in over 15 years but it comes at a tough price and it will be the first one away from Karma's Daddy since we got married 20 years ago. I have so much to get done at work I can't even think straight...good thing I have a great boss and understanding co-workers. Really sad thing is we just had the funeral yesterday for the mom of one of my co-workers who dies of cancer after only 3 weeks...she had been told 6 months to two years...AAAHHH ***chants to self...it will be okay...it will be okay....***
