Please...... i need to know

  1. I took my 9 week old kitten to the emergency vet at 4am this morning because last night he started limping on his right leg and would not extend it out while playing and this morning he cant walk and is lathargic. He is weak and when he stands up it is only for a couple of seconds then he lays down. They said he has a 104.5 fever. They asked me all kinds of questions about eating and drinking which he is doing when he is awake and play which he is not doing at all. He wants to sleep most of the time. I could not afford for them to do bloodwork because they wanted to charge me $500-600 and i just lost my job in March and have been unable to find work. So I have to wait until 9am to call his regular vet I really need for my little baby to be ok. Please say a little prayer for him to get well soon. We are thinking it may be a cold.

  3. Will keep the prayers coming for your little kitten. It is so hard to see them not feeling well and not be able to know what is going on. Hopefully, your regular vet will be able to diagnose him and give you both some comfort.

  10. Thank You for all the prayers and concerns for my new little guy Calvin. I took him to the vet and they checked him over, did bloodwork for feline leukemia and aids. The results were negative. They said just like us humans they can get a virus too. That is what he thinks it is. He was put on antibiotics and said as far as him being lathargic when that happens give him some Karo syrup to help perk him up. So far he has been eating on his own when i bring it over to him. As far as the water i have to give him water thru a dropper but that is ok. I just cant wait until my little Calvin is up running and playing again. I apologize for not posting his results sooner..i have been very busy with him.

    Again ... Thank You for all your prayers and concerns.

  16. Glad you have a handle on the diagnosis and that he's getting antibiotics. You did a good thing getting him into the vet right away. Headbonks 'n' purrs to Calvin!!! =)
