GUESS What I FOUND?

(23 posts)
  1. A couple of the neighborhood kids just came to the door asking for my help. There was a kitten they said was stuck way up top of the tree & they didn't know how to get it down. I go over there & there it is,perched just about as high as it could, crying away. I started tapping the trunk of the tree & calling kitty kitty. And that little stinker climbed straight down & got on my shoulder & wrapped her little paws around my neck w/the loudest purr I've ever heard. She's solid dk.gray & about 2 months old & thin. And Extremely vocal!! Bless my neighbor (the one who has also TNRed thru the yrs.) took her for me.
I have zero capacity here & my life is in turmoil at this time & there's no way I could take her in. She called one of her other foster friends to find a place for her. She's also going to give her the shots she needs & deworm her. It's the second cat in the last week that's showed up here. The other one she spotted this last week (an adult,long-haired orangie) we've never seen around here. It's the most lovey-dovey little furbutt I've ever encountered. I only have unfluffy thoughts for the previous owner who carelessly let this little girl out,or simply dumped her. She"s
    safe,fed & warm now. :)

  2. There must be something in the air, Feral. Cats seem to instinctively know that you care for them. Blessings on you for getting her down and on your neighbor who took her in and is caring for her until she finds a furrever home of her own.

P.S. what happened to the orangie? A good outcome, I hope.

  3. There's nothing like saving a baby kitten and have them trust you,it's one of the best feelings. I'm glad your friend could take her Susie. [[[[[[Hugs]]]]]]

  6. Susie, the cat rescuer! Bless your neighbor for helping her out. I'm something of a magnet myself, but nothing like you. (Yes Zorro is still living here. He has fully recovered from his surgery and is a great guy. I do let him roam around when I am home but he is really intimidated by the girls and he likes having "his" room for a safe spot. I am trying to get one of my neighbors to adopt him - after all, they know him already.)

  8. Thanks you guys. I'm not sure if I really saved her or if she was looking for a sucker! haha. The 2 boys that came to me,were all smiles & giddy when she climbed down right onto me. I guess they just didn't know how to speak kitty talk. lol.
As for the orangie...we aren't sure where it's at. The day my neighbor came across it,she said it was a real sweet cat but, I think she was heading out & didn't have time to check it out. She told me this evening she hadn't seen it for a couple days. We're not sure if it belonged to someone here in the park & just went back home or wandered off elsewhere. I haven't seen it myself. And we're not sure if the 2 of them belonged w/each other or not. One thing for sure, the little beauty won't be haven't any litters...thank goodness & will end up in a safe enviroment.
I Love solid gray on a kitty & she was a real beauty. :)

  9. Yayyy! Nothing better than a feel good story! Thanks Susie for being there and I am soooo impressed in those little kids coming to the Cat Lady for help. With all the problems you've had with neighbors and their irresponsibility with past cats and all the stories in the world of kids being cruel to animals, it feels great to hear you say how happy and excited the kids were who had wanted to help this little sweetie pie! Good Kids!!! When you next see them please tell them I'm really proud of them for helping that little one get the help she needed. They should be showered in praise for their actions. Although I suspect their sense of relief for kitty was probably reward enough for them. =D

  11. Karen...these boys have parents that have taught them respect & right from wrong early on....& it's really helped that a few times over the yrs.,when I was at the end of my rope w/worry over missing cats...a few bucks to them if they flushed them out of hiding taught them the value of the almighty buck. hahaha. One of them was responsible for finding Hissy for me & I thought she was gone for good. They both also have pets in their households & know the love of animals. These boys are about 12 yrs.old & I've known them since they were infants & they've only grown better each year. It's nice to have a few kids you can rely on & don't have to worry about theft & all w/them. :)

  12. Wow, those boys sound wonderful! Not enough children these days who are taught respect for people and animals. I'm sure their parents are proud of them.

  13. That's so heartwarming to hear Susie. It is becoming rarer all the time that parents invest the time and teaching to their kids. Instilling the high road and truely caring for the downtrodden and innocent. Sounds like they'd be great candidates for some Micky Dee's Christmas Gift Coupons. (unless of course their folks don't let them eat fast food...that might be shooting for the moon..hahaha) =)

  16. They know who to go to! My husband says I must have been a cat in a previous life, the way they respond to me.

  17. A stroke of Luck this morning!! Got the lost Orangie! He's about 1-2 yrs. old & a total & complete lovebug! He's a spitting image of Rusty & his dad,Hopper. My neighbor already had an appt. set up for him to be neutered so I took him down & dropped him off for his spa visit. I'm almost certain someone had to dump them because they were way too friendly & the fact that neither had been fixed just smells of a dumping. Bad thoughts for the previous owners. Lucky for this park that both were found, otherwise we'd have a whole new kitten mill starting.
I hope no more show up. :O

  19. Thanks KW...I'm so relieved that my neighbor is taking care of their spa costs. I was in a panic before I called her this a.m. to tell her I'd caught him (more like he caught me). I was afraid I would have to take him to our town shelter (they are a kill shelter). He's a real beauty as well as the kitten. :)

  20. He's a very lucky kit. I'm glad your neighbor has turned out to be such a friend to you and the ferals in the park.

  23. Hahaha...Susie..you're such a cat magnet!! Well done. I'm so glad Hopper's boy is getting the proper attention he deserves. Now if only the lad could find a furever home. I too am grateful for the helping neighbor. =)
