When you get her home, just open the carrier and let her come out at her own pace. If you aren't bringing her home in a carrier, then wrap her up in a blanket and bring her home in that. Then you can put the blanket (with her still in it) on the floor. That way she can survey her new kingdom from a place that smells safe and familiar.
Try to put her down near her food and water dishes. The litter box should be near enough for her to find, but not too close to her food.
Talk to her the whole time she is exploring. If she seems nervous, pick her up and just carry her around for a while. Don't swoop down from over her to pick her up - slide your hands under her and pick her up that way. Small animals have an instinctive fear of things that swoop down on them, probably to keep them safe from birds of prey.
As long as she has her safe place to go back to, she'll probably adapt quickly. If your home has lots of little hiding places she can explore and things she can play with, she'll be a happy kitty.
Make sure that she can't get into anything poisonous, and that there's no string, yarn, etc. that she can eat. Playing with string is fine, but put it away when you are done.
Cats are curious but cautious - she will probably be fine. As soon as she realizes that she has you wrapped around her little paw, she'll be one happy little girl.
