Finally: the moment has arrived. The TDK Roller Rink is hosting a welcome home party for MollyCat71. As you know, MC had to have surgery in May for a congenital disorder known as Chiari Malformation; while she was growing inside her mother, her skull didn't completely cover her brain, and fluid built up inside. MC, I hope I explained it somewhat accurately, given that I'm no brain surgeon. For a better explanation, check out this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiari_malformation
She had the surgery to close the gap in her skull, but some time later, the wound opened up and she had to schedule another surgery to reclose the original wound. She's been home for a few days resting, so now seems to be a good a time as any to let her run the rink for the evening. Betty and Wilma get to DJ the event for their mom. There is a full menu at the snack bar, including turkey sandwiches, turkey soup, turkey salad, turkey casserole, turkey jerky, turkey burgers (can you see the theme here?), as well as the regular goodies. I also have the secret cocktail lounge behind the snack bar for all the meowmies and tomdads. To start off the festivities, the first song will be (what else?) "Jive Turkey" by the Ohio Players.

Sorry, me and the girls are late. Started the day nauseous and spent most of the morning and early afternoon napping. Betty and Wilma are here, dressed in their finest sweaters (It is snowing outside after all) and mittens. OOOOOH! Friends come and play and skate and have fun with us. MC is residing in a chair in the corner in her pj's with a nice diet sprite. Oh I do hope some of the older cats like Cuddles come and flop on the furniture and pillows by me.

Hi Vicki and Cheri! Leela zoomed off as soon as she saw this thread. She's happy to go to the rink and hugs Betty, Wilma and Spice hello. She saunters to MC with a bunch of flowers in bright orange, yellow and red and purrs hello, leg-stub style.
Hi MC! Sorry you're nauseous - hope that ebbs soon.Posted 2 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

George is excited about spending some time with his furriends, but his mom is wondering if anyone could keep an eye on him while she crawls back into bed - she feels like crud and her head hurts :( I took a Vicodin earlier, but it didn't work(!!!) so I'm stuck for 8 hours, hoping the next one will work.
Like a dope, I went out earlier to have tea with a friend I haven't seen in months; we had a lovely visit and in walking around the city we saw 2 kitties! I never see kitties in the city. One was a lovely fluffy tuxie chasing a mouse on the sidewalk, and the other was a small black deli-cat (kept by a deli to chase mice); it was sitting outside the deli sniffing at some foodlike thing someone had put down for it.
MC, I am so glad you're home and I hope you feel better and better every day.

Jetta dons her prettiest pink party dress and pink tiara, gathers up carnations in every color of the rainbow and daintily steps into the wormhole...swoosh--whee!!! She arrives and greets B&W, Pumpkin, George and Spice and tries to say hello to Leela but she is going to fast around the rink! Running up to Amy she delivers the flowers and a message from mom: YAY! So HAPPY you are here and doing okay enough to enjoy the party! Jetta checks to make sure Amy has enough diet sprite and jumps up gently and purrs hello and asks for a quick scritch. She settles on the big pillows and watches the party and wishes for her younger days. She will wait with Amy for some of the other "seasoned citizen" kits and till they arrive will take a snooze.
If someone would send Jetta home later mommy would appreciate it. Been sick in bed all day with the tummy flu. Have fun everyone and much love to you, Amy!

Leela takes a break from skating when she sees more kitties arrive. She's sorry George's mama doesn't feel well and hopes she feels better soon. She hugs Fiona and high-paws Lydia since she has a cold. Jetta's here too, so nice to see you again! Pumpkin puts a song on and hangs out with the growing crowd as they celebrate MC's return home.

Yay - 6 more friends!
Fuzzy! Come on over! A long time ago several TDK kitties totally decked out a walker for Shaddo so he could skate. He was old, but young at heart and always had to be in on things. It's probably by the supply of hello kitt bandaids and other boo-boo helpers. The kittens use it as a sled sometimes, so Fuzzy might literally get a free ride!Posted 2 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

It's been a pretty good weekend and time for me to wander off to bed. Leela has earned my trust and can stay till our agreed upon time.

Spice spends half of her time at the rink skating, the other half socializing. today she is wearing black leggings and a long black and silver cowl neck sweater with long sleeves. her skates today are silver.
Spice was happy Cheri made catnip cookies for her and her friends. she carefully takes them to the buffet table. Cheri comes into the rink for a moment to say hello to everyone and to deliver the brownies. Spice notices that one brownie is missing and smells chocolate on Cheri's breath. she says nothing and wishes Cheri a good workout at the gym...

*Pushes open door to NS. Lots of little kitties are happily snoring or gently drowsing in front of a big roaring log fire. Half-empty plates of nibbles and the dregs of big mugs of catnip tea are dotted all around. I think all the kitties must have thawed themselves out or gone home through the wormhole, all worn out, to be tucked up in bed by anxious meowmys.*
In and out for the next hour or so, editing and reading back threads...

Pushes open door to NS office, kitties sprawled snoring all over the office. Fountains are licked clean, tables all empty and wiped down.
Here reading backposts, before going to bed and claiming my bed from HRH. I'll let her get all sleepy and happy before I have to move her. It's safer that way.Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Very unsatisfactory, Deb, I mucked around all day, not getting much done and it was raining here so I didn't get anything done outside either. So now I am making up for it with an intensive burst of checking bibliographies, great fun (not)!
How was your day?
Oops, Jasper is ripping up my papers to indicate he is starving. Back after feeding the hordes...

Evening/morning ladies. When HRH doesn't want to be moved she is all teeth and angry glares, that's why I wait until she is all mellow and sleepy. Experience is a wonderful thing.
Got my Christmas cards off, Airy and I did them last night and she posted some this morning on the way to work and I posted the rest this afternoon. Had my hair cut and then the thousand and one things that happen in a normal day. We has light showers today and very welcome too.Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #
